YD7001 and decoder pro
10
I recently upgraded from the dr5000. All seems good and I decided to switch over to using a LAN connection instead of USB between my PC and the YD7001. The unit now shows the IP address on the front panel and I can control trains using the Z21 app on my iPad etc. I use decoder pro to tinker with CVs for locos in the programming track. This works fine with the USB connection but I can’t get JMRI to work with Loconet over TCP and use the IP address that the YD7001 has. I’m probably not understanding something obvious but if someone could point me in the right direction….

YaMoRC, Digikeijs, JMRI, English DR5033 Digiboost
4
Karst I have 4 @ DR5003 boosters and a YD7001 command station “All this was for us the reason to (let) produce our own PSU's to our own specs. A decent alternative to those are the GSM60A15-P1J ( = medical use ) PSU series.” I would assume, as I use 18v on my digikeijs variable power supplies it is a wise and decent investment then to use meanwell GSM60A18-P1J in the UK I do respect your specific recommendations and advice at all times Karst Thank you John XR

Lodi-con with YD7001 via Z21 protocol - bug?
5
I have the very nice Lodi-Con Controller (Das LoDi-Con - Lokstoredigital)....that was advertised to work with any Z21 protocol station. The unit has huge potential but there seems to be one issue, and the company that makes it blames Roco and a bug in the Z21 protocol. To get it to even function you have to set it to ignore data coming from the command station and only send data. This means some of its features don't work (like acceleration and deacceleration) which is a shame. I wonder if Karst knows anything about this? Is this something you can fix for the YD7001? Heres the message from the manufacture: yes, I'm aware of the YD7001. However, it also just uses the official Z21 protocol, so it doesn't matter whether it's a Z21, YD7001, MD, or any other control unit with the Z21 protocol. For example, our LoDi-Rektor can also use Z21, and it doesn’t work there either because the speed steps get mixed up in the protocol, and the response from the control unit differs from what the handheld controller has set. Yes, that's exactly how it's intended to work in LoDi-Con, and it also works with Ecos, LoDi, CS from M?rklin, and Lenz. However, as mentioned above, the problem with the Z21 arises here. The control unit sends back only garbage to the handheld controller, hence the inconsistency. Thanks Eddie

Kato Turnouts and YD8008s
5
We used the Digikiejs DR5000 and DK50018s along with the DR4101s to operate an N Scale layout with Kato track and turnouts. They operated well, but the switches had a humming sound when track power was applied. We would like to use the YD7010 with the YD8008 Solenoid Switch Decoders and the YD6940s to hookup a new layout using Kato track. Has anyone tried this setup and if so, do the new Solenoid decoders stop the humming? Thanks, Hubert

YaMoRC-Digikeijis Network Detection
3
Hello I’m looking for a bit of advice. I plan to extend my Loco detection on iTrain. I’m currently using a Black Z21 connected to 6 devices in the following configuration, these are obviously spread around the layout at point of concentration to avoid long cable runs Z21 Loconet to DR4088LN <---- 6m-----> DR4088CS <-----0.5m---->DR4088CS <----3m--->YD6016CS <----4m---->DR4088CS <----5m------> YD6016CS Total Cable length 18.5m I’m using Cat 7 RJ45 Flat Cables between the CS’s I needed to add a couple more YD6016CS, but on seeking advice I was told that the max length in total between all units was 3m, as you can see I’m exceeding the by quite a bit. So does the layout work, well yes, I only have a few false positives nothing that I was concerned about until now!. I’m planning to add a YD6016LN and split the network up into smaller legs something on these lines Z21 Leg 1 LN to DR4088LN <----0.5m----> DR4088CS <---6.0m---> DR4088CS <---0.5m --> DR4088CS Total Cable length 7m Leg 2 LN to YD6016LN <-----4m----> YD6016CS <----0.5m--->YD6016CS <----1m---> YD6016CS Total Cable length 5.5m Would this work ?

YD8116 control of MTB turnout motors
5
Hi I am building my new layout using Yamorc decoders and MTB turnout motors. I have successfully set up a YD8116 to control a MP10 motor, using the standard simple definition for turnouts (device id 3 or 4) I also have some MP6 motors that only need a short pulse (1 sec) to drive them, as they are permanently powered. Can the YD8116 be configured to control the MP6? I see that the standard simple configuration for a point motor has a switch to "limit on time of outputs". I cannot see anywhere to specify this time. Could I set it to just 1 sec to create a pulse to throw the MP6? Any advice, would be much appreciate. Regards Philip

Voltage of a transformer for HO
15
Good afternoon. I'm going to move some HO locomotives I have but I don't have a transformer for it. I have got this transformer and I don't know if it will work for HO locomotives. I put a picture of the voltage that has the transformer and amps. The command station I have is the Yamorc YD7001. Thank you very much for your help.

Crossing Power Zones
7
My layout is divided into two power zones with double track breaks between each zone. I have a z21 Black and two Dr5033 DigiBoost units connected to the Z21 via their sniffer inputs. All appears to work correctly except: If I run a lighted coach (Pullman) across the zone boundaries the lights go out whilst one bogie is in each zone. Placing a track tester across the zone boundary on opposite lines lights the tester very dimly. Digiboost is set to not auto reverse polarity and polarity is the same in both zones. Train behaviour is normal. Can someone confirm if this is normal please? Thankyou -- Dave, Portland Church Hope Model Railway Facebook / Instagram

False Positives YD6016
10
I have recently experienced an issue with false positive feedbacks on two YD6016 boxes, one was an LN and the other an ES unit. I am aware if a solution that Iain M shared in a post some time ago using 500 ohm resistors on the DR4018 units which were over sensitive but was surprised to see the same issue on the new YD units. The problem occurred on the second day of running at a model railway show, and it occurred on both boxes at around the same time. The layout had need running on the previous day all day with no issues. On the second day after about 5 hours we noticed 2 false positives, on different sections of the layout, one on a YD6016LN and the other on a YD6016ES (both connected together). Yesterday I set up the layout again to try and resolve this problem but the problem had disappeared! At the show we reset the layout several times but could not clear the issue. our only solution on the day was to remove the feedbacks from Itrain and run the layout in a much reduced way. Any thoughts on how I might protect myself from this re-occurring as it caused considerable disruption at the show. Thankyou -- Dave, Portland Church Hope Model Railway Facebook / Instagram

DR4018 misbehaving after connection to iTrain
8
I have two DR 4018s with separate power supplies connected to my Yamorc-updated DR5000. The second of these has two signals (CV47 =1) and two MP1s. They have been working perfectly under Rocrail. I have been trialling iTrain and as soon as I connected it to the system using LoconetTCP/IP via an ethernet cable, one of the 4018s went berserk, switching the MP1s back and forth constantly. I managed to reset it using JMRI to program it, although the signals didn't work properly. I reconnected to iTrain and the same thing happened. I've since been unable to reprogram the 4018 correctly with the previous settings. I was able to reset the address of it but that's about it. The first 4018 is totally unaffected and also has some MP1s attached. Could the second 4018 be faulty?

Throttle for YD7010

What would be a recommended wireless / IR throttle for YD7010? Any reason to go with wired over wireless throttle? Thank you.

BlueTooth Game Throttles
2
The replies about the high cost of a tactile hand throttle ring true for many of us. If we pay hundreds for every version of loco we desire, why not similar for a well tuned wireless throttle? On the path of reaching a conclusion, you might try the MagicSee R1 BT game controller which can be paired to a smartphone running Engine Driver. Cost is under $10 from your favorite Chinese vendor. Seems to work well for running mainline power. Speed is joystick controlled. An E-stop and direction button are assigned as are some other basic functions. Once your consist is set up on your smartphone, you put the phone in your pocket or leave on the table and drive with the R1 Game Controller. Are there other (better? Dial for throttle?) alternatives to the R1 that work with Engine Driver?

Bus suppressors - extremely hot!
8
I have recently installed two DCC Concepts Bus Suppressors on my layout. I have 2 power zones, each supplied by a Digikeijs Digiboost, with one suppressor on each zone. I use a track feed from a Z21 black connected to the sniffer input of each Digiboost. As soon as I power up, both suppressors get very hot to the touch, is this supposed to happen Many thanks Dave -- Dave, Portland Church Hope Model Railway Facebook / Instagram

Loconet compatibility with DR5000 and YD7001
5
I have just spent hours trying to get a Digitrax reverse module to report occupancy via Loconet. It works correctly with a Digitrax command station. Luckily, I was able to get a refund on the module. I now find out this is a known problem with Digitrax Loconet items not working correctly DR5000 and YD7001. I thought the whole idea of Loconet net was you could buy any Loconet item and it should work. Shouldn’t this problem have been solved with a hardware update to the YD7001? Also a list of incompatible items would be very handy? Alec

Problems between YD7001 and Windigipet 2021 Premium
7
Good morning. A colleague from the association in my city has a problem with Windigipet. When you put in the program that uses the Yamorc YD7001 with LOCONET, the detours do not respond well after a few minutes pass. Even if you reset all components with the Windigipet program, some move and others do not. If you use a program like Digikeijs DR5000, everything works fine but you have another problem and that is that if there is a power short, the control panel recognizes it but the program does not. He uses XPRESSNET as a detection system but in the WIndigipet program only the YD7001 option with LOCONET appears and it has the Xpressnet option. In case you can help us with this issue. I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy summer. Greetings from the south of Spain, Mario
