Increasing the DR5033 Short Circuit Delay to 300ms - what problems could happen ? 9
Hi I am wondering if anyone has any experience with increasing the short circuit delay on the DR5033 from 96ms (default) to 300ms or more ? This is LocoNet CV 13 that is being increased on the DR5033. Further, what would be the risks of doing this ? It will take longer for the DR5003 to detect a short, and hence power will be applied for 3 times as long at the site of the short, which leads to a longer heating danger to whatever is causing the short. Are there real risks to decoders installed in locos, etc ? Any other risks that anyone can think of ? Thank you for sharing any experience you have. Jay Lennox - Toronto

NCE EB1 Circuit Breaker - is anyone using these with a YD7001 and DR5033 boosters ? 5
Hi My club, York Railway Modellers, purchased several NCE EB1 circuit breakers and we cannot get them working with our YD7001s and the DR5033 boosters without increasing the circuit breaker trip time in the command station and boosters to 300 ms (default is 96 ms). I am concerned that setting the circuit breaker trip time in the command station and boosters to 300 ms could lead to damage to them or the decoders in the locomotives. Has anyone else used the EB1 with the YaMoRC command stations and the Digikeijs boosters? If yes, could you let me know you set the CV in the command station and boosters. Thank You. Jay Lennox.

Resistor for block detection, best size? 13
I have both the DR4088CS and the YaMoRC equivalent. On the DR4088CS I have added the resistors as recommended. What is the best size resistor to use for wheelsets on N scale? I thought everyone used 10k ohm resistors, but a friend was using 1.5k ohm on all their cars. I want to put 2 resistors on every cars, at opposite ends, but I want a single axle to trigger detection. But I also want to be able to have a string of 16+ cars in one zone and not trip a breaker. What is best practice for these specific units? thanks -- Heath @ Human[c]ity http://www.humancity.org http://www.riversidetransfer.nyc

upgraded DR5000 to YD7001 throttle issue 4
I recently upgraded my DR5000 to a YD7001. Everything went according to plan and I now have WIFI working. I use Digitrax DT602D throttles and a Digitrax UR93 radio. The problem is that I now have to plug in to aquire or MU a loco. It is not working via the radio as it did with the DR5000. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, did you resolve it and how? Thank you in advance for any help. David

Programmer Busy reading CVs with Ops mode over Railcom with YD9401 4
I have a DR5000 which has been upgraded to a YD9401. When I use DecoderPro with Programming on Main to read Read All Cvs, I get many "Programmer Busy" responses. The LocoNet log shows that the Write was rejected and then DecoderPro moves on to the next CV. The result is a delay and then a retry (with the next CV) which is soon accepted. So the overall process takes longer than it should, and several CV's are left in "Error" status and I need to click on "Read Changes on page" to to resolve them (serveral times, until all have been read). Does anyone know if there is a way to resolve this? The environment is: YD9401 with three boosters, 2 DR5088RC RailCom readers, LocoBufferUSB, JMRI Decoder Pro 5.11 with Java 11 on Windows 11. If this could be resolved, then this method of reading all CV's would be the (almost) fastest method, with only LokProgrammer being faster. Scott Walton.

Thread exception attempting to run YD9401
Shortly after I open the app, I get this exception: This is on Windows 11. All attempts to r]use the app result in a "click" and no response. When I click on "OK", the app closes. The same result if I run the app with no connection to the command station (other than network). I have successfully run it on a Windows 10 system though. Scott Walton

Can the YD7001 be used for setting CVs on accessories ? 3
Hi We will shortly have 6 circuit breakers installed on our club layout. I am giving each of them a unique accessory address before they are installed. I am trying to determine if the YD7001 can be used for changing CVs on the circuit breakers - the circuit breakers support Programming on the Main / Ops Mode Programming. If it will, does anyone have experience with the steps to achieve this ? If we cannot do this through interfaces on the YD7001, does anyone know if this can be done using JMRI connected to the YD7001 ? I have found instructions on the 开云体育 JMRI group for how to do this, but it is unclear if the YD7001 will send the commands out on LocoNet to the DR5033 boosters. Thank you for any help you can provide. Jay Lennox York Railway Modellers - Toronto

Mounting the YD6940 4
I have been using the YD6940 3 to 2 wire adapter to power my Tortoise switch machines with the YD8116. They work well electrically, but I would like some advice on how to best mount the things rather than leave them to dangle in the air. There are no mounting holes and so something either has to hold it down or use a hot glue gun on it if that's advisable. I tried some double sided sticky 3M disks but they don't stick very well at all. All of them have come off the mounting board since the wires to the switch machines are relatively heavy wire. Any ideas?

DR5000 help needed 3
Hi All I’ve taken about 2 — 2 1/2 years off from model railroads as I was contracting and building a house for my family (and still had my day job). I have a Digikeijs DR5000 command center. It does not have any YaMoRC upgrades (yet — on order). I had it working 2 years ago where I could use various Z21 compatible apps, WiThrottle with LNWI on the Loconet, and also 2 of the real WLANmaus wireless controllers. I had to take my multi track test track down were this was all working. I kept my “control board” all wired and just removed the track and the track feeders. I was testing various bits so I had, in addition to the DR5000, a DR5003, as well as 2x DR5088RC modules with a bunch of blocks set up, using both the DR5000 on one DR5088RC and the booster on the other DR5088RC. It was all working, and I was also able to use some software for the iPhone that I was developing myself as well (a simple throttle as a learning device). We’ve finally moved (though the house work is not finished, it was enough for the city to grant 6 months temporary occupancy :). ), and tonight I set up a simple single track loop. Since I had the various modules all still mounted and wired together on a single board, I set up two blocks on my loop, one on each DR5088RC. I reset the network/WiFI module on the DR5000 to factory settings. I have the LAN port plugged into a switch on my home network. So it is set to gateway mode, and the LAN gets assigned an IP from my home network. The WiFi sets itself up as 192.168.16.254, with DHCP on using 192.168.16.100 through 192.168.16.200. While I am normally Mac based, I bought a simple small PC and have the DR5000 config utility installed, and talking to the DR5000 over USB. I'm able to use the “DRIVE” feature in the DR5000 Utility on the PC to control a locomotive and it successfully traverses both blocks just fine so the wiring seems to be OK. I have 2 different Z21 compatible apps on my iPhone. The actual Rocco Z21 app and one called “Z21 mobile”. I attach successfully to the DR5000 WiFi with my iPhone. And because it’s in gateway mode I can actually hit the internet through the DR5000. So that all seems to work. But I am unable to use either of the Z21 apps. Neither one will attach to the DR5000, which is in Z21/WLANMaus mode. I set the address to 192.168.16.254 but have no luck. What am I doing wrong? As I said, last time I sat down at this a couple years ago it all worked. My main interest and hurry now is that I got laid off from my job as an iOS engineer, and I want to use my app as a learning tool to catch up on SwiftIU/Combine. I had been using UIKit and RxSwift with it. I did a little SwiftUI/Combine for a POC of an app but need to get much better at it as a lot of the open jobs are looking for that skill and I am weak. So I figured what better way than to take my simple throttle app I was working on and convert it over. Better than just mindless tutorials :) Anyway, if anyone has an idea of what I should look at to get my DR5000 responding to Z21 connections / commands I’d appreciate it. Thanks Chad

DR5000 - throttle apps compatible with its WiFi 12
I know the Z21 app works (and I've used it) but I'm not clear about other apps. From digging around it seems apps such as WiThrottle or Engine Driver need to go through JMRI or something like a LNWI module connected via the DR5000's LocoNet. Is this correct?

4018 won't enter programming mode 4
Hi Guys, I have several DR4018's run from a YD7001. I cannot get one of the 4018's to stay in programming mode. I can push the button and the red light comes on, but when I release the button the light goes out. If I can't get the light to stay on I assume I can't reset the unit or program it. I have a 200 ohm resistor between C and 1 as per instructions! Is now a brick to be consigned to the waste bin, or is there a way to reset it? I just don't like throwing out something that could be recovered. Thanks Pete S.

Short Circuits on Layout with several YD7403 Boosters 4
My apologies if this has already been answered. I have several YD7403 boosters connected via Loconet B to my YD7001 Command Station. They work fine but I would prefer a short circuit somewhere on a track to only shut off the booster with the fault. As it is now, all boosters shut off and all tracks are powered off. I also use YD8116s to operate my switch machines. They receive their commands from the track, and so when the boosters have shut down the tracks I also lose the ability to change any turnouts until I clear the short. So the question is: is there a config somewhere that will allow the layout to power up with all boosters active BUT NOT shut off all boosters when there is a short.

YD8008 with YD6940 and Kato Unitrack turnouts 6
I'm having problems with the reliability when using this combination with iTrain. They occur mostly in automatic mode but do also when manually operating individual turnouts or when using the track route button in iTrain. The issues mostly occur with the double crossover (KTO20210) where occasionally it fails to operate. I'm using two of these and the same problem occurs with both. The pulse time in the YD8008 is set to 300ms for the ordinary turnouts and 650ms for the double crossovers. I've increased the pulse times gradually in an effort to improve the situation. Most ordinary turnouts work okay. I'm currently using three YD8008s all with YD6940s. I'm using a 12 volt dc 3 amp power supply. Is there a recommended pulse time for Kato Unitrack turnouts in order to get the optimum from the switching process? I'm using the default settings in iTrain of 250ms for the activation time. In simulation mode and in live mode iTrain behaves as expected ie all turnouts operate on the switchboard. So I can see when routes are set that the turnouts have changed on the switchboard but have not moved on the physical layout. Also the problems seem to occur some way into an operating session, so they are nearly always okay for the first few train movements. Would appreciate some advice from someone who may have a similar setup. Thanks Graham YD8008 YD7010 YD8116 YD6016LN-CS iTrain 5.1

DR4102 Relay Alternatives 12
Hi I have traditionally used DR4102 relay boards connected to DR4018 or YD8116 switch decoders to control frogs or isolate track sections. As the DR4102 boards are now rarely available can anyone suggest a suitable alternative relay board please? Many thanks -- Dave, Portland Church Hope Model Railway Facebook / Instagram

DR5000 with installed YD9401 upgrade. WWW server doesn't work, stuck until power off / power on 2 #DR5000 #YD9401
Hello, I installed YD9401 to my DR5000. Upgraded both DR5000 side Atmel FW and YD9401 ESP32 firmware, config program version YD_Config-build-72.exe. WWW server doesn't work. The first page seems to open, but any click after that stops the whole device. Power off / Power on restarts. This happens both in Ethernet and WLAN side. Does anyone have any idea what to do? Railcom with JMRI Reporters working on TCS CS-105 through Digikeijs DR5088RC 4
I was discussing RailCom and the CS-105 earlier. I had not seen anyone post about getting RailCom to work with JMRI Reporters through the Digikeijs DR5088RC and a RR-Circuits LCC-LocoNet Gateway on the CS-105. I was surprised to have just got this combination to work. Here are the hardware and software versions of the components I confirmed worked together on my benchtop: 1. TCS CS-105 HW-Rev-E, SW v2.2.1 2. TCS B-106 HW-Rev-C, SW v1.0 3. DCC Specialties PSXX HW-Rev-C, SW Rev-G 4. Digikeijs DR5088RC - SW v1.4.2 5. ESU LokSound 5 DCC Decoder 21MTC #58429 6. RR-Cirkits LCC-LocoNet Gateway HW-Rev-D, SW rev-B8h 7. JMRI v5.11.2 8. Java v11.0.14 9. Windows 10 We just need that YaMoRC YD6016LN-RC to come out.

DR4088LN-CS with DR4088CS some of my sensed blocks activate with just a touch of the sensed wire 3
I have just discovered after adding additional blocks that some of the track when just the sensed rail is touched with my finger it will activate the sensor and generate the message of an active block. What I discovered is when metal wheels on the cars cross the insulated jointer between what is the active block where the engine is and the block no longer occupied by the engine. The previous block would activate because of the metal wheel on the car. Has anyone seen this before the single rail activation and is there a solution? I insulate both rails between blocks and run the pair of feeder wires back to the DR4088 for sense and a collocated terminal block for the non-sensed wire. My main bus is 14 gauge and my drops are 20 gauge. Drops are a few inches to maybe max of 4 feet. DCC voltage measured with a RRAmpmeter is 14.2 volts on one booster and 14.4 on the other . DR4088LN-CS with DR4088CS trailing blocks turn on and off when metal wheels pass over insulated jointer 3
Thanks in advance. When running a train with multiple cars and a single engine the first block activate as expected when the engine enters it but then when the trailing cars with metal wheels cross the insulated jointer between blocks the trailing block activates for an instant. This does not happen with every car or with every block pair. I can track the activation using the YD7001 loconet feed back monitor, and the loconet monitor in JMRI. The layout panel in JMRI also flashes the trailing block while the block with the engine remains solid. I have three power districts one powered by the YD7001 and two DR5033 boosters. Each district has its own set of DR4088LN-CS and DR4088CS with two 64 and one 48 sensed tracks. For block wiring I have the sensed wire and the common wire connected to the track with both ends of the block rails isolated from the adjoining blocks. I insulate the common wire also. The sensed wires go to a DR4088 input and the common wire goes a terminal block. These are powered from the command module or booster main bus outputs. My hope is there is a setting in the YD7001 or JMRI that would allow me to reject the false detections. I tried the 470 ohm shunt on one of the problem sensors but it did not help. I think this has been happening for a while but I just started paying attention to it. My equipment is about 4 years old and bought mostly at the same time.
