YD7001, JMRI and iTrain
5
I wonder if anyone has had success in combining the YD7001, JMRI and iTrain together. All 3 want to use LocoNet but some refuse to connect saying the com port is already in use. Why do I need all 3 apps running? The YD7001 wifi server does not support latching or unlatching function keys. The JMRI server does. The wifi controllers I use do not have latching/unlatching toggles so i need the controller to do this. I use a UWT100. Not having latching configurable is fairly important with my Tsunami2 decoders. I have paid for iTrain so I intend to use it to run unit trains! Running the YD7001 app first then starting JMRI gives a com port-in-use error. For me at least the Human(c)ity experience is different. How weird. So why post in the YaMoRC forum here? :) it's because the YD7001 has the LAN connection and I don't have to have its wifi turned on. My next attempt will be to put an ethernet switch in and connect the computer and the YD7001 together that way. I believe I still need the USB/Com port to configure the YD7001?

DR5033 and YD6016LN-CS combo

Can anyone tell me why this doesn't work? At switchon I get a short notification from the LEDs on the DR5033. The track is not getting any power. The DR5033 is visible from the YD7001.

YD8116 and Fleischmann 22212 decouplers
3
Hello, I hope somebody can help me setting up a Yamorc YD 8116. Please excuse the long post! I have several Fleischmann 22212 electromagnetic decouplers on my layout. I want to be able to control these decouplers using iTrain. Currently, all points on my layout are managed using multiple Digikeijs DR4018 switching decoders. I know that I can use either a DR4018 or YD8116 configured to drive a simple on/off configuration (for example turning station lighting on and off), and this works. However, my concern is that when the ‘on’ position is selected, the 22212 is energised until the ‘off’ position is selected within iTrain, and over time, as power is constantly supplied to the decoupler, this could result in the motor within the 22212 burning out. My goal was to ‘pulse’ the 22212 so it would only be energised for a set period, such as 1.000ms. Effectively, the decoupler would only be energised when the loco passes over to decouple itself from the trailing wagons. Prior to buying the YD8116, the dealer I purchased it from said to me that what I was trying to achieve was possible as the length of the energising pulse can be set within the config of the YD8116. There is an option to change the length of the pulse (shown as ‘Limit on-time of outputs’ in the PGM section of the YD8116), although this appears to be a global setting that affects all devices connected to the YD8116. I am using the YD9100 to make configuration changes on the YD8116. I am hoping that somebody (maybe Karst ? ?) can offer guidance. I appreciate that what I am trying to achieve might not be possible, so I will need to look for alternative options. Fleischmann has suggested that I use their Roco 10522 switch, albeit a manual solution. Apart from the situation described above, I have to say that the configuration interface on the Yamorc products is significantly easier to navigate than the Digikeijs products!

Track Snubbers positioning
13
Hi I am using a Z21 to control my main track bus and a DR5000 for the accessory bus. I have an oval layout with the track and bus wired as a U shape, ie not a ring. I want to add track snubbers to the ends of the U shape in an attempt to fix an issue with interference that I have been having. My question is where does the bus end! The last connection in the bus is a DR5088RC detector unit. So, do I continue the bus past the 5088 and place the snubber there, or do I place it at the end of the track bus that comes out of the output side of the 5088? Many thanks -- Dave, Portland Church Hope Model Railway Facebook / Instagram

Two of my DK50018 with firmware version 1.0 only work using Bluetooth
2
I tried programing two DK50018's to switch Tortoise Switch machines and everything works over Bluetooth using the app but trying with the YD7001 pc app or my WLANMaus they do not switch. I have another DK50018 running version 1.0.7and that works just fine. Anyone seen this before? When I try to switch the switch motor from my hand held the programing light flashes as if it's getting the command. When trying to address the Dk50018 from the hand held the address via switch command does not take and the program ked does not flash. I can confirm this with the app since the turnout address did not change. -- Mike's Deep Run RR Virginia USA YD7001 command station DR4024 servo switchers DR4088LN-CS DR4088CS DR5013 reverse loop DR5033 boosters JMRI and Enet loconet connection

YD8116 MTB MP5 Point Motor switching
2
Is anyone aware if the YD8116 be capable of switching 2 x MTB MP5 point motor IE in a Crossover setting. I have tried a similar set up using the Digikeijs DR4018 previously and this would not work with the MP5s as they would randomly start switching back and forth I tried this on the recommended preset 6 and with some of the other presets. However this set up worked with the MP1 Andrew

DR4018 individual channel configuration
4
Team, CV47 is currently set to 1 (16 permanent on/off). I want to change channels 15-16 to drive a Turnout Motor (preset 6). I think this can be done by keeping CV47=1 and change CVs 127 & 128, correct? If so, to what do I change CV 127 & 128?

DR5000 Track Output which is Rail A & Rail B

Terms Rail A and Rail B are commonly used as per NMRA's nomenclature. The DR5000 doesn't label the outputs so which is which?

DR5000 compatible with DigiTrax DB210 OPTO booster?
12
DR5000 manual refers to optical isolation and H bridge but not sure what this actually means. Would a DB210 OPTO Booster be compatible with the DR5000? Want to check before possibly damaging either.

Help solving a loco that will not run after upgrading DR5000 to YD7001
4
Hi I just upgraded a DR5000 that run the layout in the train room to a YD7001 using a YD9401. After the upgrade everything works fine except for one loco, 5702, which will not respond to any commands - ring bell, sound whistle, go to speed step 10, etc. 5702 ran fine with the DR5000 before I upgraded it. What is interesting is that 5702 works just fine on our test track using an NCE PowerCab. When the YD7001 is connected to the test track, 5702 will not respond. To make sure it was not a DCC address issue, I renumbered another loco to 5702, and it works fine with both NCE and the YD7001. 5702 has a QSI Steam - BLI Hudson 4-6-4 decoder according to DecoderPro. Does anyone have any suggestion or experience with this type of problem? Jay Lennox - Toronto

DR4088xx loconet and S88 modules
6
I know the correct way to connect the loconet and S88 modules, But is it possible to say have 4 S88 versions of the DR4088 (giving address's 1 to 64 for feedback) connected to the S88 giving address's 1 to 64 bus on the DR5000 and also the loconet version connected to the Loconet T connection with the Loconet module programed with an address after the last S88 EG address 65 to 80? my reason for askingthis as I actually have 8x S88 DR4088 feedback modules on my layout but I need an extra 16 address's near the first module for a push button control panel. As every cable is labeled with module number, terminal and address on the S88's it would be a huge job to go through relabeling everything 16 positions higher.

When you installed the YD9401 software on your new PC did you also install the USB drivers, and if you are using the network to connect have you set that up correctly? Many Thanks Iain Morrison https://wimorrison.com/

DR5013 and Hornby sound decoders
I've run across a baffling issue. Some time ago I installed a DR5013 as a reverse loop in current sensing mode, not short circuit. It has worked without issue until I installed a new Hornby TXS bluetooth sound decoder in a new locomotive. I have run many of my locomotives, sound equipped and not, through the reverse loop. I even added a layed up Hornby locomotive with TTS sound (an early Hornby sound decoder for those who may not be familiar). The issue occurrs only with the Hornby sound decoders, and only when the sound is turned on. What happens is the DR5013 goes into a short circuit condition and cuts the power to the loop. The red LED next to the reset button flashes until it's reset. If the locomotive is still present, the short will happen again as soon as throttle is applied. I'm using a Roco Z21 base station and double booster - one booster is providing track power to the DR5013, and the 5013 is linked to the Z21 via Loconet. The 5013's short condition was sending a stop command to the Z21, which cut power to the whole layout, however I've fixed that by turning off the short forwarding from the 5013 to the Z21 via loconet (that's to Iain Morrison's suggestion on another forum). My next action will be to increase the short circuit delay in the 5013 and see if that helps. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered a similar problem, and if so, how they fixed it? My likely long term solution is to replace the 5013 with something better (maybe wait until the Yamorc version comes out - hopefully this year). Regards, Jay M

DR4018 set address to something OTHER THAN 9999
6
I have (3) DR4018 working fine controlling 16 LEDs. Is it possible to change the DCC address to something other than 9999 using CV1? I'd like to configure CVs on the fly via a JMRI script without having to go into program mode. It seems if I change CV1 to an used loco address then I could do this but when I write to CV1 is doesn't change.

Digikeijs DR5088RC RailCom LocoNet Occupancy Detector
3
I'm currently using Digikeijs DR5088RC for occupancy detection and railcom feedback. With my recent layout expansion I find myself in need of 2 more DR5088RC modules, but have been unable to locate any worldwide. I have been waiting for the YAMORC YD6016LN-RC which is equivalent to the DR5088RC, but it continues to be delayed. Does anyone in this group know where I could purchase any DR5088RC modules? Or does anyone know of an arduino DIY equivalent design I might be able to build myself?

YD 7001 RS Bus not reporting sensor status.
4
Purchased YD9401 and converted DR5000 to YD7001. I connected this to my layout that was using Lenz DCC. I have been able to control Locomotives. But I am having difficulty reading the RS bus. When I use a LH101 Throttle to query a LR101 encoder (in this case number 83) all I get is "Active" displayed whether the occupancy detectors are active or inactive. If I Query it on the Lenz System I get "Active" plus the numbers of active sensors attached to the LR101 encoder. For example "ACTIVE 7" if sensor 7 is active.

What does Start-up Delay do?
2
Hi In the YD7001 app, on the Control Properties windows under the Settings tab, there is a setting called Start-up Delay with a default of 2500 ms (Control Properties is accessed by clicking on .Track on the YD7001 app main window). Does anyone know what is does and what its maximum value is? Thanks. Jay Lennox - Toronto

Software Compatibility - Apple M1 Processor and DR5000
6
#Railcom
#DR5000
#DR5088RC
#JMRI
Contemplating using the DR5000 and related peripherals such as the DR5088RC. This would be controlled using JMRI. But, I have a Mac with the M1 processor, and it appears that Digikeijs software only runs under Windows. Windows won't run in a VM on the M1 (at least that's the case with Parallels). Presumably I don't need to run the Digikeijs software for operations if using JMRI, but I suspect I also wouldn't be able to install firmware updates on the CS or its peripherals. My assumption is that USB is USB, so there would be no conflict between JMRI on the Mac and the DR5000. Thoughts?
