Track Snubbers positioning

Hi

I am using a Z21 to control my main track bus and a DR5000 for the accessory bus. I have an oval layout with the track and bus wired as a U shape, ie not a ring.?

I want to add track snubbers to the ends of the U shape in an attempt to fix an issue with interference that I have been having.?

My question is where does the bus end! ?The last connection in the bus is a DR5088RC detector unit. So, do I continue the bus past the 5088 and place the snubber there, or do I place it at the end of the track bus that comes out of the output side of the 5088?

Many thanks

You just place them anywhere – and one will be enough

Thank you Iain.?

As I have purchased 2 is it worth placing the 2nd one on the accessory bus?

I would say yes, especially if you are using DCC Concepts IP digital turnout motors - helps to stop them losing their addresses?

Really!? ?That’s why all my digital IPs keep losing their addresses!

Earlier (over 2 years ago) Digital IPs had this issue. DCC Concepts sent me a box of newer ones to replace them.?

i have had that problem for years changed all my digital ips for new ones but once i connect them to the dr5000/yd9401? they start going erratic?and their?addresses change

still got the problem?
im now using a sprogg3?and they work perfect

DCC Concepts stuff is very sensitive to Railcom when it present though snubbers seems to reduce the issues, the only real ‘cure’ is to switch off Railcom (and that is what they will tell you to do) – which is a problem is you use Railcom!

I accept you don’t use Railcom but by default it is switched on with a DR5000 and is therefore present in the DCC signal.

Did you switch it off?

Wow! ?Thats pretty good service to replace all of them for you, I didn’t realise it was a known issue. ?I have about 20 of them and some or all of them lose their address at regular intervals. ?I’ve fitted a snubber to the accessory bus so we’ll see how we go. ?Gone off plug and play now, ?much prefer Arcomora but we live and learn!

yes mate all turned off
