YD8116 and Fleischmann 22212 decouplers

Edited

Hello, I hope somebody can help me setting up a Yamorc YD 8116.??Please excuse the long post!

?

I have several Fleischmann 22212 electromagnetic decouplers on my layout.??I want to be able to control these decouplers using iTrain.??Currently, all points on my layout are managed using multiple Digikeijs DR4018 switching decoders.??

?

I know that I can use either a DR4018 or YD8116 configured to drive a simple on/off configuration (for example turning station lighting on and off), and this works.??However, my concern is that when the ‘on’ position is selected, the 22212 is energised until the ‘off’ position is selected within iTrain, and over time, as power is constantly supplied to the decoupler, this could result in the motor within the 22212 burning out.??My goal was to ‘pulse’ the 22212 so it would only be energised for a set period, such as 1.000ms.??Effectively, the decoupler would only be energised when the loco passes over to decouple itself from the trailing wagons.

?

Prior to buying the YD8116, the dealer I purchased it from said to me that what I was trying to achieve was possible as the length of the energising pulse can be set within the config of the YD8116. There is an option to change the length of the pulse (shown as ‘Limit on-time of outputs’ in the PGM section of the YD8116), although this appears to be a global setting that affects all devices connected to the YD8116.??I am using the YD9100 to make configuration changes on the YD8116.

?

I am hoping that somebody (maybe Karst????) can offer guidance.??I appreciate that what I am trying to achieve might not be possible, so I will need to look for alternative options.??Fleischmann has suggested that I use their Roco 10522 switch, albeit a manual solution.

?

Apart from the situation described above, I have to say that the configuration interface on the Yamorc products is significantly easier to navigate than the Digikeijs products!?

?

and then

?

is the way to go with the YD8116.

Greets,

Karst

Thanks Karst, I'll give this a go!
