Using the wsjtx app on sBitx
Notes:
- the standard wsjtx app is not very usable on the default sbitx display
- the raspberry pi touch screen display resolution is 800x480
- the wsjtx app requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024x768
- this is why the sbitx software provides its own ft8 support
- see further discussion in the thread linked in the references below
Preparation:
- start from a clean reboot
- start the sBitx program using the icon on the desktop
- when Chromium starts, use the 'X' in its window title bar to close it
- now the screen has the 'Qt' interface of the sbitx program on it
- hold Alt and Space together then pick 'Iconify' from the menu
- this puts sBitx onto the system toolbar
- the 'sBitx' program is iconified but still running
- open the copy of fldigi by clicking on its icon in the system toolbar
- use the 'X' in its window title bar to close it
- click on the Raspberry at the top left, open 'Sound and Video', click on 'wsjtx'
- After doing this, the 'wsjtx' app is running in the traditional way.
