Calibration
The BFO and rig calibration can be tricky to get right. Here are some helpful tips:
- Calibrate the BFO using some white noise reception and a computer + audio spectrum analyser. I used fldigi. The passband should be 300Hz -> 3KHz.

- HFSignals now has a web page that can be used in place of an audio SA:
- Then (re) calibrate the VFO @ 10MHz.
- Note that the version 5 stock software goes into TX mode when the calibration is started.? You need to insure that there is a dummy load attached and not an antenna.? the signal transmitted will be 10 MHz, not legal, at least in the US.
- For the other versions you need a known AM signal for best results.(example. WWV).? You will be zero beating against this station.
