Legacy software often? doesn't have the "smarts" to interface to an advanced radio like the sBitx over wifi or Internet.? ?Many of these older programs were written to interface to radios such as Kenwoods, Yaesu's and ICOMS via serial or USB port.? ?A way to broaden the use-ability of the sBitx is to provide an emulation of a widely available interface so older software can immediately provide CAT control.? ?

Such software includes many many titles, but WINLINK (client), WINLINK (server: TRIMODE, RMSRelay), N3FJP, ION2G come to mind.

A rudimentary EMULATOR has been written that runs as a separate simultaneous little bit of software on the Raspberry Pi and manages a USB port of the Raspberry (/dev/ttyUSB0) created by plugging in a cheap UART dongle, and communicates to the sBitx software via its TELNET API.??
