Rtty no modulation
16
hello everyone. setup: ft991a in usb. window 10. there is no rtty modulation. i searched here, in the previous messages, i browsed a lot of internet pages, also the software help. i managed to decode, to try to make it work, now the decoding is done in reverse. the radio goes into transmission in rtty mode (lsb or usb), there is only one carrier and the power comes out. in ssb mode, it does not go into transmission. for info, this radio works correctly with mmtty and 2tone. Gone crosseyed figuring this out FLRIG DIGIRIG IC-7000
2
Hope somebody can help me with specific settings for me to get FLRIG working with my DigiRig Mobile and IC-7000 transceiver. Laptop is a W10 Netbook, and WSJT-X works fine. Trying to get FLRIG working so I can link to HAMRS to use for POTA activations. In XCVR setup Rig is IC-7000, Com4, Baud 9600, 2 Stop Bits. When I click Init it says Transceiver not responding. Not sure of correct settings here or PTT-Generic which I currently have BOTH CAT, SET RTS, OFF DTR and no check boxes. That doesn't work. INIT comes up Transceiver not responding. Help please. Clear Entry when Log QSO
6
My Fldigi has stopped clearing the entry windows when I log a contact. The contact logs but the data remains. Easy fix is manual erase but would like to have the convenience back of log-clear in the same step. Am not finding a setting that affects this in the manual, the reflector or in Fldigi- config or Fldigi-Logbook. Have View>Rig/Log Controls on Full but doubt that should have an effect. -- Karl K0CIE

FLrig and Yaesu FT1000mp
17
New to FLdigi/FLrig and was wanting to try out software but am having trouble with FLrig connecting and reading my FT1000mp. I finally did manage to connect to rig but the frequency readout is totally wrong It is reading 20M phone band as below 1Mhz .173XX and nothing I have been able to do changes this. I can key rig in CW mode it produces a series of keyups like dashes. But the main problems seems to be the frequency right now. I am including some screen shots. Anyone have any ideas. Potential Bug? fldigi instances not closing out in Windows
6
Mostly addressed to Dave (W1HKJ) but also looking for others experiences: Scenario: I am now running current alphas of fldigi and flrig (autostarted) on a gamer Win11 workstation, but have seen this issue going back several "final" releases and on a Win10 workstation. I use multiple instances of fldigi talking to a single instance of flrig because flrig can do KISS protocol and can control a single rig for multiple instances of fldigi looking at that rigs sound CODEC stream. Before the "frequent commentators" ask, I have had poor luck setting up the other rig control engine because they either did not work at all for my use case or were a mess to configure. I have seen the problem with the other control engines. I will be using flrig. I can start a single instance of fldigi with flrig and they will close out normally most always. The trouble does start after long (days) running the apps. When two or more instances are running with or without flrig, I can almost always shut down the second instances, but the primary instance will shut down (autostarted) flrig but then hang and require one the "messy exit" routines to kill the hung process. This problem happens very often as quickly as 15 minutes or less after the programs are started. Quite a while ago I tried capturing the hang event unsuccessfully - probably because the hang suspended the debug logging writes? @Dave: What is best way to log this event when it happens? @All: have you seen this same scenario when running multiple instances of fldigi either with separate instances of flrig (as in for two different radios) or a single instance of flrig hosting multiple instances of fldigi? Rearrange macros

#macos
Is there a simple way to change macro positions on the GUI? Drag and drop would be nice, but I am not sure if that would work. I don't like the macro layout that is the default it doesn't flow quite right. I have copied and pasted a few in the macro editor but that takes a lot of time.

ICOM IC-756PRO III NO Cat with FLrig on Win11
8
OK! I have a problem with our Clubs IC-756pro III. I have the latest build for FLrig but cannot get it to comm with Windows 11. I am using the West Mountain Rigblaster Advantage Interface which has CI-V built into it. Now just as a FYI, I have the JS8Call and FT-8 Modes running with this setup and NO problems. As a FYI I have here at home the IC-756(Non-Pro) and have FLrig running just fine with that with the latest build and Alpha build Setting are as follows: Rig IC-756PRO III Com5 Baud 19200 Stop bit 1 CIV# 0x6E I have verified the settings in the Radios Menu and they all seem to be right. After reading that folks are having issues with Win11 I'm going to go back several vers of FLrig and give that a try. If anybody else has any ideas I would appreciate any feed back. 73 de Steve KB6HOH

Fldigi on Windows 11
15
Dear radio amateurs, I have a new laptop the Dell 16 5645 with Windows 11 pro.My old laptop is Dell e5470 with Windows 10 pro. I used Fldigi version 2024 and it worked very well on my Windows 10pro with my FRG 7 receiver and the sound card in the laptop. Now with the new laptop (Windows 11) what I installed, the old and newest version of Fldigi it does not work any longer. I tried it many times on more days. I do not know what the problem is, and maybe someone of you can help me to solve that problem. I will thank you very much if you can help me with the problem. Kind Regards Herman PD1HTI The Netherlands, in the vicinity of the Airport Schiphol. My English niveau is what a leard a very long time at school, sorry for that

porting over from Win7 to Win11?
4
Getting ready to copy my Win7 drive contents over to a new Win11 PC. What are the caveats I should look for and correct in fldigi? Currently the old PC/fldigi is working well with my Kenwood TS590SG, thru the USB cable/connection. Your attention is appreciated. FLdigi Easy Living - a few practical remarks...
Hello FLdigi Users, This concise information is for those seeking to restore Basic FLdigi (programs family) Functionality, usually after a program or operating system update, or simply interested in a Portable Installation. Other topics mentioned below include operating multiple FLdigi Instances, FLdigi Configurations and rearranging Macros. - - - - - - 1. Portable 'thumb drive' Installation, also useful to Restore Basic FLdigi Functionality (from scratch)... After several updates (especially when skipping a few releases), or even moving FLdigi from one PC (hardware or OS) to another, configuration files may sometimes become incompatible and cause unintended issues. To overcome this and create a truly 'fresh' basic installation, you may wish to try out the 'FL_APPS' folder install feature. For this to work, it doesn't matter where this FL_APPS folder resides, e.g. a path like 'C:\Apps\Radio\FL_APPS' will do, if FLdigi is installed directly therein. The special 'FL_APPS' folder feature has originally been programmed into FLdigi in order to allow creating a 'portable' FLdigi installation, e.g. on a memory stick. The key for this to work is this special folder name, which by definition triggers FLdigi, if installed into 'FL_APPS', to place all the necessary config files and others as sub-folders therein, contrary to the 'standard' installation, where the 'fldigi.files' with personal user preferences, macros, logs etc. are generally stored in the classic location 'C:\users\<UserName>fldigi.files' and several sub-folders. A detailed description can be found in the online 'Fldigi Users Manual 4.2.00', in the chapter 'Installing fldigi on a thumb drive'. This highly recommended Fldigi Users Manual can also be downloaded separately for local use. It has a 'Contents Index' helping to find your way within. - - - - - - 2. Multiple FLdigi Instances (intended for use with a standard installation)... There is a versatile feature which may be useful for various reasons, provided FLdigi is already present and (at least partly) operational on your system. By creating several different shortcuts, you can, quite independently, configure and use multiple different FLdigi instances on your local hard drive, all using the same FLdigi installation (e.g. fldigi.exe etc). Caution: In case you apply rig control or transmitting of any kind, make sure that only one (1) single FLdigi instance is active in this respect at any given time! In the above-mentioned FLdigi documentation, you'll also find a chapter 'Operating Multiple Copies', which involves launching FLdigi via a batch file or shortcut link that includes a command line switch, for example: --home-dir FOLDER --> Set the home folder to full pathname of FOLDER fldigi will put the file stores fldigi.files, and nbems.files in this folder The default is: C:\Users\<UserName>\ --config-dir FOLDER --> Look for configuration files in FOLDER The default is: C:\Users\<UserName>\fldigi.files\ In practical terms, proceed as follows: - On the desktop or in your windows file manager, perform a mouse 'right-click' (or hit the 'AppsKey', if available). - Select 'New -> Shortcut' - In the 'Create Shortcut' dialog, browse or enter/paste the path to your installed FLdigi.exe file, e.g. 'C:\Apps\Radio\FLdigi\fldigi.exe'. - Behind this path, after a <SPACE>, enter one of the 'command line switches' as given above, e.g. 'C:\Apps\Radio\FLdigi\fldigi.exe --home-dir C:\Apps\Radio\FLdigi\MyConfig'. All valid command line switches of your current FLdigi installation can be browsed and written into a text file (as a reference) as follows: fldigi.exe --help >help.txt If you can't open a command window directly from within the 'FL_APPS' (or your standard FLdigi) folder, simply write the line above into a plain text file, call it 'gethelp.bat', then run this gethelp.bat and, once complete, open the newly written 'help.txt' in the same folder. This file should contain all the available command line options to choose from. - - - - - - 3. Verify where FLdigi retrieves and stores configurations, data, and macros... In case of

Lost text

Hello I have had a situation some times when I prepare a text in fldigi and after starting sending it, by mistake or a second of hesitation turn off sending - and the text is gone. Is there a way to get back the last text to the blue sending pane so I could start over with the text intact? 73

AFC Button greyed out / drift
6
Hello David, I have a (stupid?) question. Kim (SW Radiogram) tried fldigi ver4.2.06.20 and had trouble with the audio offset slowly drifting off to higher frequencies, while producing his programs. I have found the same (MFSK32/64 were tested here in ver...24) but this drift stopped when I turned off the AFC. I let him know but he replied: The AFC button on my Fldigi is "grayed out" -- it cannot be turned off. See the attached. So far I have not found a setting that would activate the AFC button. Well, nor have I. What may be wrong here or what are we missing? Thanks a lot! 73s Tobias .-.-.
