IR Detection
I have a question about IR detectors. My IR detectors are directly connected to a dr4088ln-opto (see attachment). This works. My question is, can they be directly attached to a dr4088LN-cs or do I HAVE to use the OPTO version of the DR4088 ? If so, could someone explain why they have to be electrically isolated ? Would they also work with a yd7001, yd6016-cs combination since the yd6016es-opto has been postponed ? YD6016RB
2
Hello everyone. I've purchased 3 YD6016RB sensor boxes. The first box has 12 outputs and is connected via the R BUS which all work perfectly but when I connect a second box, I get flashing occupied sections on a completely different part of the layout and the second box has no wires in it! I've replaced the RJ11 link cable and factory reset all boxes and still have this problem. I'm using the black Z21. Please help!

YD9401 and Mac
13
A few questions I need answers to please, especially if I want to run the YaMoRC Command Station system with a Mac. Unlike Windows, I cannot see the image of the Command Station (with which I can easily interface) on my desktop on a Mac. First, does the YD9401work with a Mac? What Apple OS is minimally needed? If it does work, do I connect the YD9401 via USB or an ethernet (S88) cable? Third, will the YD9401 work with the new Mac silicon chips, versions M1 and M2? Do I connect the YD9401 via USB or ethernet (S88) cable? Thanks, Don

Digikejis DR500 or YaMoRC Command station and Boosters
4
Hi I have a question about adding boosters to the command station. Currently the command stations can supply 3.5 amps and boosters listed are also only 3.5 amps. Since I am planning and working on a large HO layout that at first will be around 18 ft by 60 feet. Eventually it will double in width. So I was wondering if other boosters that can supply 5 amps could be used and if so, is there any special connections to be observed? I like the command station for all the interfaces it currently supports and works well with iTrain. Using one now for an N scale layout. So the main contreoller DCC signal could be used on turnouts and the boosters for the yards, and main lines. Thanks for any suggestions or information.

DCC command purging/ priority
I have a YD7001 which is used with my Dead rail garden layout, sending commands over WiFi to the battery powered locomotives. The system I use for the WiFi control is WiFiTrax. Now, the issue I am having is that when we have had a number of locos running the amount of commands coming from the YD7001 starts to overwhelm the WiFi and I start getting delays in response from the locos and eventually some locos become unresponsive. This happens after about an hours running. If I restart the YD7001 everything goes back to normal running. Using a DCC sniffer, I can see commands are still being issued for locos that have been stopped and turned off (battery power off). Is there a setting on the YD7001 to purge stationary locomotives. The Z21 enables this with a number of minute intervals. Also is there a way to reduce the number of times an update is sent to each loco or make it so no updates are sent unless there is a change? Trying to reduce WiFi traffic. Cheers Brian

How do you set up for more then 4 Wifi throttles on the YD7001
5
I just did an exhibition show with YD7001 it was very successful it was a small Layout so we only need it 4 WiFi throttles. My question is how do I get more throttles working with the YD 7001 let's say like 10 to 16 WiFi throttles.

YD8008 and common return for operating turnout solenoids
2
I am currently controlling turnout solenoids (Peco) on dc with toggle switches on my layout. The common feed for each solenoid is connected locally to a common return wire and two longer wires feed back to the switch on a control panel. I would like to change to dcc operation using YD8008 units. Is it possible to connect the common feeds on the YD8008 to a common return system or would I have to rewire each solenoid with 3 wires to the decoder? I have over 30 turnouts to control so I would be using 3 x YD8008. Thank you.

Function key 2 (F2) is latching / non-momentary on the YD7001 ?
Hi We have discovered that in our environment F2 is latching / non-momentary when using the WiThrottle and Z21 / WLANmaus protocols (we have not tested others). Has anyone else observed this ? What is more interesting is if we connect the same throttle to the YD7001 through an LNWI, the behaviour is different - F2 is non-latching / momentary. The LNWI converts WiThrottle protocol to LocoNet before flowing it to the YD7001 through the LocoNet T port. Typically in North America F0 = head/rear light, F1 = bell and F2 = horn, and the horn sounds only as long as F2 is pressed. I have discovered through web searches and reading that in Europe F2 typically controls the head/rear light, which of course you would want to stay on after F2 is pressed (latching / non-momentary). Feedback on the behaviour of F2 on the YD7001 welcome. Jay Lennox - Toronto

YD6016ES connected to DR4088 via S88 and DR5033
7
Hi all, I just wanted to check that my understanding of how to correctly connect two YD6016ES units to a DR4088LN with a DR4088/S88N with the two YD6016ES units having power provided from a DR5033 booster is correct. The DR5000 is currently running Digikeijs firmware (1.5.5 from memory) but will be upgraded with the YD9401 chip as soon as possible. I’ve attached a PDF showing my understanding of how I believe this should be accomplished. Can anyone either confirm this please or advise what needs to change as I don’t want to risk powering the units up and going bang! Apologies in advance if I’ve broken any rules attaching a PDF.

Configuration of #YD8116 with
9
#yd7001
#YD8116
HI All, I've just upgraded my DR5000 with upgrade module YD9401, so now I have an YD7001. Is there a way to configure the YD8116 (and other modules) with the YD7001, other than setting the first address with the programming button? I have installed the Config SW package, but it only shows icons for YD7000, YD7003 and others, but no YD7001. Will I need to acquire a YD9100 module to benefit from the full-fledge configuration interface for YD8116 (and other similar modules)?

Dimensions
4
Hi, I am planning my physical connections to the layout and would like to know the dimensions of the YD6016LN-RC LN Railcom feedback module. According to the website it's not going to be available for a few months yet but I hope to build at least part of the layout connection and just leave space for the module. Thanks in advance....

YD7001 update: Build 55
2
#yd7001
#wifi
Hello Dear Fans The new firmware for YD7001 and YD9401 is ready. You are welcome to download it from: http://www.yamorc.de/downloads/YD_7001-build-55.exe (manually copy the link text into your browser if the link does not work ) To the following procedure: 1. download 2. install (using Next, Next, Finish), if you have already done so you can skip the drivers. 3. update the YD7001's firmware 4. reboot the YD7001 cold after updating (switch off, switch on after 15 sec). Wait until the LED of the YD9401 flashes. 6. Open the WLAN mask and update the firmware + SPIFFS (check the box!). 7. the YD9401 is now set to the new factory settings, repeat the settings as you did after installing the YD9401. After updating, restart the YD7001 cold (switch off, switch on after 15 seconds). And then you are ready to go So what did you get ? 1. the 192.168.4.1 bug fixed 2. full WiThrottle protocol (tested with WiThrottle (iPhone), Engine Driver (Android), TCS hand controller and wiFred). 3. some minor stability improvements in the Z21 protocol, programming track. 4. some cosmetic improvements in the speed controller and LocoNet feedback monitor. 5. protection against unwanted inputs when YD9401 is (re)starting. 6. some sound signals in various screens to indicate when e.g. firmware updates are ready or when the YD9401 is on-line again. 7. quite a few more, rather invisible, unnoticeable IT improvements in the GUI. So. you are cordially invited to try it out ! Greetings, Karst

Use of LNWIs with YD7001 - does anyone have experience?
4
Hi Does anyone have experience using Digitrax's LNWIs with a YD7001 (a DR500 upgraded using the YD9401 module)? I am trying to establish if this combination works without problems. Our situation: I am asking on behalf or York Railway Modellers in Toronto - I am a member of this club. We have a DR5000 command station and we are using 4 LNWIs to connect via WiFi to it - WiFi throttles are a combination of TCS UWTs and cell phones running Wi Throttle and Engine Driver. Our membership is growing and we will need to add the ability to connect more throttles in the coming months. Capacity can be increased by adding another LNWI or converting the DR5000 to a YD7001, and then using the built in WiFi module or a external router to connect throttles. The delivery or Wi Throttle support for the YD7001 in the last week make it possible to consider the upgrade as a solution to our need to grow. Thank You

YD9401 and YD7001
I am new to YaMoRC and was looking to find out what it involved and if the old Digikeijs DR5000 would work with it. Luckily I found this YouTube video that explains the installation of the YD9401 LAN module and upgrading the DR5000 to a YD7001. https://youtu.be/YPZrcux9kpc #yd7001 #dr5000

Where To Buy

Since we are in the mood for suggestions, the YaMoRC website "Where To Buy" page does not mention Iron Planet Hobbies as a USA distributor. I am not affiliated with them in any way, but they do list your products on their website.

#YD8116 - General question
2
#YD8116
Will there be a more detailed manual for the YD8116 ? I'm trying to see how to use the module with Dutch signals on my ECOS and i-Train combo.. ECOS is playing nice, but iTrain confuses me with the settings? BTW.. I LOVE the user interface with the separate config tool!
