IR Detection
I have a question about IR detectors. My IR detectors are directly connected to a dr4088ln-opto (see attachment).
This works. My question is, can they be directly attached to a dr4088LN-cs or do I HAVE to use the OPTO version of the DR4088 ? If so, could someone explain why they have to be electrically isolated ? Would they also work with a yd7001, yd6016-cs combination since the yd6016es-opto has been postponed ? YD6016RB
Jason
Hello everyone.
I've purchased 3 YD6016RB sensor boxes. The first box has 12 outputs and is connected via the R BUS which all work perfectly but when I connect a second box, I get flashing occupied sections on a completely different part of the layout and the second box has no wires in it! I've replaced the RJ11 link cable and?
?factory reset all boxes and still have this problem.
I'm using the black Z21.
Please help!

Re: Newly Converted DR5000 to Yamorc and hornby R8247
All,
Please can someone help. I have tried everything . I have read about CV's and such for the last few days and I believe I am doing things correctly, The R8247 is version 1 and has 4 ports. These are the steps I am following on the screen shot previously shown. Set to service and the accessory decoder? is connected to the programming track. CV33 to 0 as I want it to drive solenoids CV513 change to value of 33 ( this is the block that of 33-36) that i want it to be. All it comes up with is NO LOAD. Does the R8247 need its own power supply when being programmed? Is it safe to connect the YD7001 to R8247 and the main? Is the power too high for the programming track? 19V?? Should it connected to the main track? I have tried to change it with JMRI single CV programmer and the YD7001 with No luck . I have tried? all kinds to combos with no luck. I am learning about the systems slowly but I am stuck as I believe I missing something simple out. Just can't see it Please help |
Re: Newly Converted DR5000 to Yamorc and hornby R8247
So,
?As it is showing no load I think i must connect this to the main track to program it as it hasn't got its own power supply. Showing NO LOAD or this something else? I have to set up CV 513( Cv1) to read value of 10. Soleniods block of 4 and 10th point motor accessory.. then write this? I have to set up CV 33 value 0 which sets it up for solenoid stanard set up.? Slowly tryinng to work through this but what do I put in the address boxes each time? The decoder unit number 10? Can I have some input from someone please. I will try this and see if it works in the morning as I can't afford to dispose of the 7 units I have to buy new . |
Re: Newly Converted DR5000 to Yamorc and hornby R8247
Hi,
Tried and failed to use the service mode on the programming track. I have read the old manual and watched a? few old youtube videos and it says to put 513 in the CV box. What do I put in the address box? I want it to be 10th accessory decoder? as a block of 4. Whats the value mean and the little bit boxes below that? Hope someone can help so I can the old decoders reprogrammed. |
Re: Newly Converted DR5000 to Yamorc and hornby R8247
All,
I have the V1 version which I suspect has a lot less functionlity of the V2 in the manual above. Being a total novice with this and not understanding the basic premise I am a bit stumped. So I have connected a peco point to the R8247 and connected the R8247 to the programming track. I have 3 options service , decoder? or accessory . POM which one? Address? is it 9999 ? Cv number ? Is the number I start at ? Bit? not sure what this ? Please help as I have worked through today sorting out the Yamorc? YD7001 from being a DR5000 and it works fine , train running all good. I even have a pre programmed R8247 numbered 1-4 and that works. I just dont know how to get the new ones to program. Please can someone tell me what numbers to put in the boxes please or am I completely wrong. Gordon |

Re: YD9401 and Mac
Does the Mac M2 run Windows programs?? If it does then great, if not you need Parallels or dual boot. Many Thanks Iain Morrison On Fri, 2 Feb 2024 at 21:27, Don Charabin <scentgrasslake@...> wrote: Thanks Karst, I sure hope it is a stable, and compliant, way of running the new and improved DR5000.? I may not have had the programming downloaded on this Mac M2 yet...? I'll try and see what does happen,? |
