Easy Italian Pear Cake Recipe (Torta di Pere), a simple moist dessert, breakfast or served as an afternoon tea cake.

Ingredients:

3 large peeled (4 small), firm ripe pears,? (Bosc or Barlett), cut into pieces
2?cups all-purpose flour
3?teaspoons baking powder
3/4?teaspoon kosher salt
1 1/4?cups granulated sugar
1?cup whole milk yogurt
1/2?cup unsalted butter , melted and cooled
2 large?eggs, room temperature?
1/2?teaspoon vanilla extract

confectioners' sugar?for dusting

heavy whipping cream , if desired?

Directions:

1) Line a 9.5-inch round baking pan (springform pan or bundt pan) with parchment paper, or spray with cooking spray.?

2) Preheat the oven to 350¡ã F.?

3) In a large mixing bowl, with an electric mixer on medium speed, whip the sugar and eggs until you obtain a creamy and fluffy texture. You can also use a stand mixer with a large bowl.?

4) Stir in the yogurt, butter, and vanilla extract. Use a fork or spatula to combine until smooth (not the electric mixer).?

5) In a separate bowl mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt.

6) Sift the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Stir gently until well combined. Add the pears and mix gently. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. If the cake starts to brown too much on the top tent the top with foil during the last 10 minutes of cooking.?

7) Let the cake cool on a wire rack. Before serving dust the cake with confectioner sugar. If desired, serve with freshly whipped cream, or ice cream.??

Sausage pizza balls make a great appetizer or snack. They're like whole pizzas that can be popped into your mouth in a single bite! Omit the green bell peppers and onions, if desired.

Ingredients:

1 chopped green bell?pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a large baking sheet.

In a medium bowl, mix together Italian sausage, baking mix, green bell pepper, yellow onion, mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce. Gradually stir in water until the mixture is a workable consistency. Roll into 1 inch balls.

Arrange pizza balls on the baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven 20 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve hot.

Directions:

Heat oven to 375¡ãF. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. In medium bowl, mix shredded cheese and 1/2 cup of the pizza sauce.

Unroll 1 can of dough on work surface; reshape into 12x8-inch rectangle and press perforations to seal. Place half of the cheese mixture evenly on top of dough; top with half of the pepperoni.

Starting on short edge of rectangle, roll up tightly and pinch seam together. Repeat for remaining dough, cheese mixture and pepperoni.

With serrated knife, carefully cut each roll into 6 slices, about 1 1/4 inches wide, and arrange spiral sides up in baking dish, reshaping into round shapes, if necessary.

In small bowl, mix melted butter, Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Brush top of dough with topping mixture.

Bake 23 to 27 minutes or until deep golden brown and dough is baked through. Cool 10 minutes. Just before serving, in small microwavable bowl, microwave remaining 3/4 cup pizza sauce covered on Medium-High (70%) 1 to 2 minutes or until hot. Serve as a dipping sauce.

This homemade marinara sauce is super easy to make! With just a few staple ingredients and a little simmering on the stove, you can have a healthy homemade sauce! Plus, you can add a few extra veggies for more flavor if you like!

Instructions

  • Finely chop all the vegetables or process in a food processor. Heat the olive oil in a large pot then add the vegetables. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
