Re: You can't fix stupid (or hurry-up-itis)
Woo Hoo! It is probable that A3 is no good anymore. Hi. But at least the CH340 is good. That is usually one of the first things to go. A bit weird that it took out the crystal instead...but at

Re: You can't fix stupid (or hurry-up-itis)
John, I agree - a new Nano is on my "to do" list. I thought about using a Nano Mini, as I have several of them, but the footprint won't work. However - I took the 12MHz crystal off of the Uno clone I

Re: You can't fix stupid (or hurry-up-itis)
Unless you blew up the Si5351, merely replace the Nano and reprogram it. You may have to replace the lcd, but it is unlikely. You may have to replace the Si5351 but it is unlikely; however, check the

Re: Lost all audio
It is very likely that using the TS-520 with the BITX40 unprotected resulted in a blown transistor somewhere. If you have good input voltage (12v), then check the base, emitter, and collector voltages

Re: Lost all audio
Clark Martin KK6ISP Since the receive runs on 12V I’d be looking at the power supply, whatever parts are in common between the 25V and 12V supply.

Re: Lost all audio
I just remembered something that might be important, but might not. ?I was using the Bitx40 last night and was making a contact. ?I was really light to him so I switched over to my other radio

Re: Lost all audio
Unplug and plug in again all connectors on the board. May be some oxidation on the pins. Shake the wires and see if some loose connection pops up. Unplug PA power and operate the PTT and see if the

Re: You can't fix stupid (or hurry-up-itis)
You could back off to the analog VFO and play with that. ?Just stuff L4 and unplug the raduino. ?VFO tended to be a bit unstable, especially as the rig heats up some during transmit. ?Raj has

no output to the speaker. ?Tried another speaker and there is nothing.

Re: Lost all audio
Hard to imagine how power to the PA would zap the receiver. ?Until you hit the PTT button, the two relays are in their receive position and the IRF510 really has nowhere to go. ?First thing I would

You can't fix stupid (or hurry-up-itis)
I got my bitx40 today, and tonight I started wiring things up. I figured I'd do things in stages & see how it goes. The raduino board powered up from the USB port & I got the tuning pot connected &

ok, I didn't even think to check output, but yes I have output. ?So, it is definitely in the receive portion. ?Could just be audio. ?I'll keep looking, but if you have any ideas, I would appreciate

The only other mod I've done is a 4 pin hookup for a Uniden mic. ?I will hook up the watt meter and see if anything is transmitting.

Re: Adding speech compression.
Good question. ?I doubt it will affect receive unless you get a really strong station, and at that point it might be desirable as it could save your eardrums if wearing headphones. ?There is
