It is very likely that using the TS-520 with the BITX40 unprotected resulted in a blown transistor somewhere.
If you have good input voltage (12v), then check the base, emitter, and collector voltages at each transistor.
Likely one of them will be wrong and that is the one to replace. There is a voltage chart available for comparison.
