Re: Lost all audio

Hard to imagine how power to the PA would zap the receiver. ?Until you hit the PTT button, the two relays are in their receive position and the IRF510 really has nowhere to go. ?First thing I would do is check with an ohmmeter between the antenna and L1 in the bandpass filter, should see zero ohms. ?After that, follow Ashhar's receiver checkout hints: ?? ? He is just injecting noise at various points in the receiver using a short piece of wire (I imageine 3' or so) with nothing on the other end, it's just an antenna picking up any local QRM.?

No radio hiss sounds to me like you might have no power. ?Check to make sure you have 12v to the main board. ?Or you broke a wire at the volume control pot or headphone jack. ?Or perhaps one of the oscillators went out, either the BFO or VFO, but in that case I'd expect you to hear hiss from the audio amp. ?Could be the relay contacts between the two audio amps at M1 and M2, check that out with an ohmmeter. ?Whatever it is, my guess is it's not because you left PA 25v on.

Last night I left my bitx PA hooked up to 25volts all night. ?Today when I got to my radio I have NO receive. ?No radio hiss, no nothing. ?Could I have burnt something up leaving it hooked up to 25 volts all night. ?If so, what might be the culprit? ?Would burning up the IRF510 cause no audio? ?Please advise
