New purchase
Just purchased an 878UVII plus from HRO. Trying to figure out how to program it for DMR in the northeast region. Still learning from DMR sites. Just joined a local club but haven’t gotten together with any members yet to learn codeplugs; I know this is the advice. Any advice from this group would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Bob AA1HM

AnyTone AT-878UVII Plus analog APRS cannot be decodified by Direwolf
Hi all, has anyone got success to receive and decode analog APRS frames to Direwolf from an AnyTone AT-878UVII Plus? I try EVERYTHING without success and I'm desperate 'cos I don't know what more can I change in Direwolf or AnyTone. I can see another APRS frames decoded succesfully from other stations. I review EVERYTHING: sound levels (I can hear in my PC), connections, .... Although the APRS frames sent by Direwolf can be decoded succesfully by AnyTone. Thanks.

578 Bug 6
Has anyone else experienced this with their Anytone AT578 mobiles? After anywhere from 4-8 hours of leaving the radio on, If I try to TX on a DMR channel, it gets stuck with the red TX light on (it does not actually transmit). I have to power down the radio to reset it. I am assuming it is a software bug. Wondering if anything similar is happening to anyone else. Thanks. Holger, K2HES

D878UVII V3.02 CPS - "TX Permit" & "DMR MODE" 2
Two questions about the AnyTone AT-D878UVII PLUS and D878UVII V3.02 CPS referencing the "Channel Information Edit" panel. 1. "TX Permit" setting has 4 options; - Always - ChannelFree - Different Color Code - Same Color Code The "AT-D868UV/D878UV CodePlug Programming Guide" says, "Selects PTT transmit criteria – typically Same ColorCode" I have seen code plugs that use both the "Same" and "Different" options. Requesting a better explaination of the options. Also the best choice for a DMR repeater. 2. "DMR MODE" setting also has 4 options; - DMO/simplex - Repeater - DCDM/Double Slot - DCDM TS split I have been unable to locate an explaination of these options in the Programming Guide. I have seen sample codeplus using both the simplex and repeater options. Which is the correct option for a DMR repeater? Thanks,

D578UV3 Plus, digital aprs on Brandmiester, any tips? 3
Brand new d578uviii plus, trying to get D-APRS working with Brandmiester. Currently it works as expected in analog mode, and digitally with Freestar SystemX. Not sure how to troubleshoot the Brandmiester connection. My hotspots use BM3104 as the master. Radio is set to use TG 310999, current channel, current timeslot. Radio SMS format is set to Motorola. In Self-care radio type is set to Motorola. Hotspot shows DMR Data being sent to the Master, but the Master is not passing on the data to APRS-IS. Suggestions? 73 de K8DIY Screenshots of my configs posted here: /g/AT-D578UV/message/1343

AnyTone AT-878UVII Plus bluetooth hands-free car audio system issues 5
Hi all, First of all I'm glad you to accept me in this group. The issue I'm going to describe I've posted in another forums too (qrz.com and eham.net) but I cannot find any solution yet so I hope anyone can help me. I'm trying to make working an AnyTone AT-D878UVII Plus HT with the hands-free bluetooth system of my car an european Peugeot 2008 from 2017. I can pairing both. The AnyTone appears as a "Telephone" profile and it's the only one I can choose. The other ones are "Steaming audio" and "Internet mobile data" and if I choose one or both of them it disconnects temporaly with an error but in this one second sound is heared by the car speakers. But althought both are paired no sound is heared when the HT is receiving and the mic from car BT hands-free neither not work when the HT is PTTd. Also the AnyTone is paired with the wireless PTT and it works fine. Both AnyTone and car multimedia system are updated with the latest release of their firmwares and it works fine with a smartphone for example. Althought I try with an AnyTone AT-878UV Plus from a friend and the same issue. I don't know what to see or configure more. Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks in advance. Regards. 73.

Anytone D578 Pro III 4
Hello all. I have a D578 Pro III and I downloaded the software from Anytone for my radio (they list two different versions). Anyway, when I run either program, when I go to write to the radio it says WRONG VERSION. My radio says its version 1.00. What version do I need for this radio? I also purchased the programming software from RT systems and I have NO idea how to make it work. Money wasted I guess. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. 73' de W2LPC. W2LPC@...

AnyTone AT-778UV max operating voltage - issues at 14v 4
I have an AnyTone AT-778UV (Retevis RT95), and am trying to run it off of a LiFePO4 battery that when fully charged is at 14v. The problem is the radio will not turn on at 14v, and if charged up to 14v while powered on it will power off. If I drain the battery a tiny bit down to 13.9, the radio functions fine. The specifications in the user manual states an operating voltage of 13.8V DC +- 15%. Shouldn't this mean it would work fine from 11.73 - 15.87 volts? Does anyone else have this radio and have issues at/above 14v? It seems like in a vehicle this voltage would not be too unreasonable for an alternator to produce either. Did I just get a bad unit that does not like over 13.9v? https://fccid.io/T4K-778UV/User-Manual/Users-Manual-3731629.pdf (page 33 of the pdf, or page 29 on the printed pages for the specifications section) Thanks for any assistance,

Anytone AT-5189
Hi Folks: Wonder if anyone has a schematic or other info on the AT-5189 mobile radio. I am looking for a place to inject audio directly into the FM modulator, bypassing the mic input and pre-emphasis, a place to pick up raw discriminator audio, and thirdly, confirmation of which of the 2 pots adjusts output power. Thanks in advance! Ramesh, VA3UV

D578 UV2 plus Help Requested
In the spring I purchased the Mobile radio and just recently I purchased the BT01 remove microphone. The radio has worked pretty much flawlessly since purchase. The BT01 however is acting strange. I suspect I have firmware issues as in I need to update the radio. The radio currently has: Firmware V2.04 installed Hardware V1.10 installed Radio Data V1.00 installed Unfortunately their manuals leave a little to be desired (very small print at a minimum) and I am getting old. When I go to the download section of the Anytone web site it is not totally clear which firmware editions go to what it just tells you a version number and never says firmware or Bluetooth etc. so I dont know if I have the correct software installed or not. One thing I have heard is that you can not update the Bluetooth via a PC it has to be an android phone of all things. This is a dumb idea for someone with old eyes in the first place but more than that I dont own an android phone and no one I know does. So how does one get around this? I have been able to pair the handheld BT mic/spkr but I hear no audio on transmit or receive and the PTT hangs on the radio leaving it in transmit unless you press PTT a second time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jim

AnyTone AT-5888UV
This radio appears to be a 2-band knock off of the Yaesu FT-8900. I own both radios. I'm curious if anyone has an AT-5888UV and has experimented with the USB port to determine if remote control (i.e., CAT control) is even possible. Too bad that AnyTone didn't include that as a feature since it makes the perfect radio for digital comms (such as WInlink, FLDIGI, SSTV, etc). I've also discovered that the RJ-45 microphone (QHM-05) isn't your standard analog mic. It appears to support a digitized audio stream (??) and that fuels additional curiosity as to the potential for digital comms. Documentation that I have is pretty sketchy, so I haven't looked much further and thought this board might know more about this particular rig. Comments welcomed. 73 Keit/KI5US

Anytone 500-M
I attempted to post a earlier this morning & I had to shut my computer down due to a threat. So, please excuse me if I posted. I am rather new to these forums. Question #1: I have read the instructions that came with the radio. The one inside the box is not very detailed. So, I went to the source. I am attempting to understand the values of RF gain. Many of the settings tell what the values mean specific to function. For example: "Short press SQ/AQ, until LCD displays stands for SQ/AQ level, the bigger value stands for high squelch level." This example describes what the bigger value does to squelch. However, when I go look in the instructions specific to RF gain, I see: AU, 03, 06, 9-48. I am not fond of AU. However, I attempted to increase RF gain. When I advance the number up to 48, I cannot hear hardly anything on Channel 19. However, if I reduce it to 03 or 06, it works fine. Does 48 represent the highest RF gain? Question #2: I heard that activating "Hi Cut" helps to reduce the static. I thought I read where this also helps to reduce strong skip signals.
