D878UVII V3.02 CPS - "TX Permit" & "DMR MODE"

Two questions about the AnyTone AT-D878UVII PLUS and D878UVII V3.02 CPS referencing the "Channel Information Edit" panel.

1. "TX Permit" setting has 4 options;
- Always
- ChannelFree
- Different Color Code
- Same Color Code
The "AT-D868UV/D878UV CodePlug Programming Guide" says, "Selects PTT transmit criteria – typically Same ColorCode" I have seen code plugs that use both the "Same" and "Different" options. Requesting a better explaination of the options. Also the best choice for a DMR repeater.

2. "DMR MODE" setting also has 4 options;
- DMO/simplex
- Repeater
- DCDM/Double Slot
- DCDM TS split
I have been unable to locate an explaination of these options in the Programming Guide. I have seen sample codeplus using both the simplex and repeater options. Which is the correct option for a DMR repeater?

Thanks,

I recommend Always or Channel Free, the other two modes regarding Color Code are going to be for special rather unique repeater configurations that you're unlikely to run into in amateur radio. In this context Always will let you key up or "step on" the repeater even if it is already transmitting. Channel Free will disable your PTT until the timeslot you are on is available, or perhaps until the repeater carrier drops - some experimentation is warranted here.

Choose option one for single timeslot simplex hotspots (those with one antenna), or working simplex with another DMR radio. Choose Repeater for working with commercial repeaters, duplex hotspots, or other radios if you agree on a frequency offset ahead of time.?

The DCDM modes are for special use, likely in a commercial application, that increase the capacity of a channel to allow two conversations on one 12.5khz frequency. Check out the explanation here:
