AnyTone AT-778UV max operating voltage - issues at 14v

I have an AnyTone AT-778UV (Retevis RT95), and am trying to run it off of a LiFePO4 battery that when fully charged is at 14v. The problem is the radio will not turn on at 14v, and if charged up to 14v while powered on it will power off. If I drain the battery a tiny bit down to 13.9, the radio functions fine.

The specifications in the user manual states an operating voltage of 13.8V DC +- 15%. Shouldn't this mean it would work fine from? 11.73 - 15.87 volts?
Does anyone else have this radio and have issues at/above 14v? It seems like in a vehicle this voltage would not be too unreasonable for an alternator to produce either.
Did I just get a bad unit that does not like over 13.9v?

(page 33 of the pdf, or page 29 on the printed pages for the specifications section)

Thanks for any assistance,

What was the resolution to this issue?? I am planning to purchase the 778 for use in my RV and have lithium batteries.

Sorry for not updating the thread. The issue actually had nothing to do with the radio. The battery I was using had a BMS that was behaving badly. It cut off way too early at the top and bottom end of the safe voltage range. I ended up bypassing the BMS for a while then just switched power sources.?
The radio has been working perfectly fine.
