groups.io spam prevention procedures email 3
Greetings, all. Over the last few weeks, you may have gotten an email asking you to re-verify your subscription to this or other groups.io lists. This is a legit email and if you want to remain active, you should verify that it is really you and not a bogus account. This is one of 开云体育’s ways at taking out SPAM. They were apparently unwittingly used as a spam relay, so now they have to ensure all the spammer accounts on groups.io are closed. However, verify the email sender's address and the link they are asking you to use to ensure it is really from them and not from more spammers. Sorry for the inconvenience. Repeater Finder NOOB 13
Loaded the repeater finder plug in and set it to Manual Tuning with several of he categories (2m, 70cm, DStar, etc) selected and then View > Nearby Repeaters and didn't come up with any listing. I'm concluding it's because there are no repeaters in my area with APRS Beacons. Can someone give me some coordinates I can plug in to see it function? 73 de KO4NCC Jeff

URGENT! next build#194 of YAAC, created 2024-Jan-21
Greetings, all. If you upgraded to build#193, please upgrade immediately to build #194. I introduced a stupid typo that breaks being able to send any APRS text messages or local objects, and now have it fixed, along with more testing to avoid such bugs in the future. ---------------------------------------------------------- next beta build#194 of YAAC ("Yet Another APRS Client"), created 2024-Jan-21 downloadable from https://www.ka2ddo.org/ka2ddo/YAAC.html or https://sourceforge.net/p/yetanotheraprsc changes and updates include: 1. fix stupid typo introduced in previous build that breaks APRS text message transmitting. 2. add more unit tests to catch recurrences of the above issue. 3. try to prevent hangs in marineports plugin unit tests.

New Version 1.0 (1.8.0_331) Issues
I’ve been running YAAC for many, many years so am pretty accustomed to having no issues with updates but this version 1.0 (1.8.0_331) is the exception. I did this update from the Help==>Check for Updates menu item as I’ve done many times before. I’m running it on a M2 MacBook Air, lots of disk space, lots of RAM, Sonoma 14.2.1. The update seemed to go just fine as it always does. But on launch the map window opens but no maps or banners or buttons or anything open with it. There is also no menu bar opened with it, pretty much just a white page the size of what the map should be. If I go back to the previous version of 16-Jul-2023 everything opens correctly and all functionality is restored. Has anyone experienced this issue and if so how did you recover from it? Thanks... QRU server timing issues 3
Hey everyone I have a quick question to see if anyone else has experienced this issue before I file a bug. I have a simple setup with YAAC using kiss over ip connected to Direwolf on the same system. I have been playing around with the QRU fuctionality in YAAC and have seen some behavior that is presenting as a timing issue I just don’t know how to validate where the issue is. I can create an object in YAAC and set a QRU group. The QRU server is turned on in the configuration. Once I add this object the object gets transmitted out as expected and I see the packet on a second station. When I send a message to QRU with the group name I see one of two responses. Response 1 is what I expect I get an acknowledgement, then the object information is sent, and finally a message back with the summary on the number of objects in that group. The second response looks the same in the raw packet sniffer as the first response however when watching the logs on direwolf only the initial ack is sent. Not the objects or the summary message. If anyone has seen this or has some ideas on how to further debug to try and figure out what it is working sometimes but not other please let me know. Thanks, Scott – W2KP

Alternate configuration in YAAC 1.0 beta Raspberry Pi 3
I am using YAAC 1.0 beta on my Raspberry Pi. It has been working fine for the default configuration but I am trying to create a alternate configuration for mobile use. At the command line I am using "$ java -jar /yaac/YAAC.jar -profile mobile" The problem is that after the first setup, the new configuration is not involkable and keeps opening a non-configured version at susbsequent running of the command line. I am sure I must be overlooking something that is pretty fundamental. Any help would be appreciated. Brien - KE7WB

Display Drone Data
Now that drones are required to transmit RemoteID, kind of like ADS-B and AIS systems, anybody know how to receive these and may there be any plans to include it in the APRS display? IIRC, there are plugins to show ADS-B and AIS objects. I just learned about this RemoteID stuff, so I don't know much about it yet. I don't know what it takes to receive and decode it. Thoughts? -- 73, Michael WA7SKG "Any day you do not learn one new thing is a wasted day."

This also required updating some plugins with custom screen views. 9. rescale line-of-sight plot to display more useful vertical range. 10. fix popup station window to be reasonable size and scrollable if there are hundreds of stations at the point (such as for the Coast-of-Africa point for stations without positions). 11. fix OSM downloader to optionally download sways (unlabeled way) files if preferences say to use them. 12. fix pseudo-APRS-IS-server plugin to properly send APRS frames upstream (working with the core YAAC fixes to support it). 13. make "right-click" fixes in smallscreen plugin. 14. fix marineports and aisdecoder plugins to support AIS-Catcher application. https://github.com/jvde-github/AIS-catcher

FTM-400 Digirig issue 3
Hi Tim, The Digirig relies upon RTS to PTT the radio (I cannot remember if its -RTS) how are you setting up the PTT? Also, I've found that RFI getting into the USB line can lock up some devices though I've not seen this with digirig. I need to play around, but I've also found that since Digirig isn't a TNC, the easiest configuration for me has been to use direwolf as the "TNC" and configure it to PTT the digirig. Then point YAAC at Direwolf via the KISS/AGW network port. --Mark K6EF

FTM-400 Digirig. 2
Hello, I am using the Digirig with my FTM-400 and YAAC. I can't get any data to flow from the FTM-400 and YAAC. Ideally, it should send the APRS data out to the Audio port of the Digirig. That would then be input to YAAC to show the data. I can't seem to get the data from the FTM-400 to show on YAAC. Tim KM4ESU

Cannot connect to fldigi using KISS-over-TCP 2
Greetings, I've got fldigi configured to listen on port 8001, TCP/IP, Listen/Bind, Auto Connect/Retry. In YAAC, I configure a KISS-over-TCP port, localhost, 8001. Help me understand... RX only I-gate showing on map when filtered to RF only 5
Can someone please help me understand what I'm seeing here? I have my filter set to only show stations from KISS-over-TCP. I see no incoming packets in the raw packet sniffer, yet N7LF-10 has shown up on my map. When I go look at N7LF-10 on aprs.fi it says it's an RX only I-gate and shows it's location about 60 miles east of me. But in YAAC, it's showing up about 20 miles south of me. So, my question is, without any packets showing up in the packet sniffer, and with the filter set to RF only, how did this station show up? And why is it's location so far off from aprs.fi? Bad decode? Thanks. Just trying to figure this all out.

Center map on last station Heard ? 2

I've looked in the documents / FAQ and can see there's an option to center on a tracked station, but i cannot see how to zoom to last station heard. does this option exist or have i missed the instructions on how to achieve this ? regards Paul G4HDS

RF -> IS gating question 3
I have my station setup to "Allow RF -> IS gating" and I have ports setup for both RF and IP, and both have Transmit Enabled. Looking at the Raw Packet sniffer with the filter set to packets from the KISS-over-TCP port (which is RF right?) I can see that I've been hearing stations. But if I go to APRS.fi and look at my station, it doesn't list anything under the "Stations heard directly by..." section. Does this mean my iGating is not working, or just that the sending stations are getting into the server via another means? Directly to the internet or via a different iGate?
