Where should the YAAC Help menu be located?
The question is "where on the window menu bars" should the Help menu be located?". At the present time, YAAC is consistent with the UI design rules for Microsoft Windows 95 through 2000 (approximately) that say the Help menu should be pushed all the way over to the right margin of the window. Both earlier and later releases of Windows, as well as X-windows window managers (Gnome, KDE, Motif, etc.) and Apple Macintosh OS X use the convention that the Help menu is the last window on the menu bar, but is still grouped with the other menus, which start from the locale-specific leading edge.
("Leading edge"? That means where users start reading. For example, in English and German, people read from the left to the right, then top to bottom for additional lines. However, Hebrew and Arabic read right-to-left, and Japanese
reads top-to-bottom first.)
So, returning to the question, where on the menu bar should the Help menu be located?
