Alternate configuration in YAAC 1.0 beta Raspberry Pi
I am using YAAC 1.0 beta on my Raspberry Pi.? ?It has been working fine for the default configuration but I am trying to create a alternate configuration for mobile use.
At the command line I am using? "$ java -jar /yaac/YAAC.jar -profile mobile"??The problem is that after the first setup, the new configuration is not involkable and keeps opening a non-configured version at susbsequent running of the command line.? I am sure I must be overlooking something that is pretty fundamental.? Any help would be appreciated. Brien - KE7WB |
Do you keep specifying the "-profile mobile" option when you start YAAC again? That tells YAAC which configuration to use for that specific startup of YAAC. If you don't specify it (or specify a different one), then YAAC will attempt to use the other named (or default unnamed) configuration profile. And the profile name is case-sensitive as well, so "Mobile" is not the same as "mobile".
The intent of the profile option was to allow several different YAAC setups on the same computer for separate usages, such as a default terrestrial setup and an ISS setup that would use different options for communicating through the ISS, where YAAC could be repeatedly switched between the different profiles. One other thing to mention: the named profiles are stored as sub-trees of the default unnamed configuration (which does not look into the named profiles when used). As such, if you clear the default unnamed configuration, you will also destroy all named configuration profiles as well. Hope this helps. Andrew,
Thank you for your reply.? ?I think I resolved this.? When I set up the mobile configuration I forgot to set up the TNC and GPS ports (doh!).? This apparently results in an incomplete configuration and it does not get saved.? Once I set up the ports it worked properly.? Lots of details in this Raspberry Pi, Raspian linux, and YAAC stuff.? I have successfully set up my RPII, TNC-Pi, GPS dongle and 7 inch display with separate desktop icons for home and mobile configurations.? Best Regards, Brien - KE7WB? |
