PC Interfacing 2
I am new to using the Xiegu X6100 and actively reading and experimenting. My radio is running: App: V1.1.9 Sep 14 2024, 12:11:57 Base: V1.1.8 Sep 15 2024, 15:22:37 On PC interfacing I have observed the following: Connecting a USB cable between the Windows 11 PC and the DEV port of the radio will create two serial comm ports and one USB audio device. This is done without having to install any drivers. Devices ¡¤ USB-Enhanced-Serial-A CH342 (COM5) ¡¤ USB-Enhanced-Serial-B CH342 (COM6) o The Serial-B port assigned is the CI-V port. o T/R Data is CI-V = 19.200. n,8,1 o RTS = CW o DTR = ¡¤ USB Audio Device Internal Sound Card Is the Serial -A port used anything and what? I have notice that the CW generated by the RTS from an external program (N1MM+) is erratic as far as the lengths of the code elements. Is this a proven method of generating CE code? Thanks, Rick NN4RB

Which version of R1CBU is best to use on the x6100? 3
Georgy et. al., I've noticed that there seems to be multiple versions of the original R1CBU firmware for the x6100, from different developers. What are the differences between the different development versions? Are there different "manuals" for the different versions that describe the changes for each version? Alternatively, is there only one "official" version? And if so, which one is it, so I can use that version? I plan on getting back into using my x6100, and would like to install the R1CBU software in it, especially since I plan on doing FT8 a lot. So, I will need to find out how to install it, as it seems like there appear to be at least two ways to run the software, depending on the development version. Which is the "official" R1CBU manual, with the latest changes in it? Once I get my x6100 connected and start using it some more, I plan on updating the manual for any changes needed due to software improvements since the last Xiegu version. I did embedded software for 45 years, before retiring 10 years ago. And, I did hundreds of pages of documentation. So if I get the time, from retirement activities, I can update the manual, (if I get the time). Jerry K6ANI

R1CBU List of Default Settings 3
Guys, I was learning how to use the R1CBU Firmware, went on mission and, after a couple of months, I really forgot what settings I moved. Everything sounds really awful. Just lost track of what changes did I make. Is there somewhere a list of the default settings to bring back the Radio to the best everyday settings for the R1CBU? No, I don't want to reset the whole thing, because I have band settings in there according to my IARU zone. But if there is no other way, I am willing to loose everything and start from scratch. What I have here is R1CBU 0.28 with base V1.1.8 from Sep 15, 2024 15:22:37 73 Rob YS1RS

R1CBU / R2RFE - TX issues when transmitting recorded messages 15
Hello everyone! Recently I was playing with transmitting pre-recorded messages using Georgys/Oleg firmware, and I've noticed possible issue: as long as I'm not using ATU on specific band, I'm able to transmit message with no issues. BUT when I trigger ATU tuning procedure, then there's no power/modulation for transmitted message. Has anyone experienced same issue? I remember, very similar problem had been present in past for FT8 App - It was pretty unusable after running ATU, but now it seems to be fixed. I'd be happy to fix code on my own and publish PR with fix, but before I start digging, maybe somebody (Oleg? Georgy?) have some guidance where to look for problem - especially assuming it's somehow similar to the problem with FT8 app. Vy 73 de Jarek SP9HGN

Eagerly awaiting every R2RFE / R1CBU enhancement 2
I have to say that I appreciate Georgy (R2RFE) picking up the Olympic torch from R1CBU and continuing with it spectacularly. Both of these gentlemen are heroes. Also, check out Georgy's R2RFE QRZ.com page for some spectacular astrophotography photographs that he took from his own backyard. I usually don't give much mind to the stuff people put on their QRZ pages, ha, but this is truly worth the few seconds it will take to have a look ¡ª truly amazing images. 73, Randy K7RAN

Remote turn on and off 8
Hi, Since the radio has a WFView server support I'm thinking of giving it away to a local ham club for remote use. However, there is a problem to solve: when it (inevitability) crashes, or when power goes off or something like that, we need to interact with the power button. Any suggestions on how to do this? Just soldering some wires and send the input with like an rpi or something? Not sure what to do. Any suggestions? 73, Rui, CT7ALW.

I/Q Output? 6
No doubt this has been raised before but I can't seem to find the answer. There is an I/Q port on the side of the unit. This is a new unit manufactured 12/24 with the latest firmware. There does not appear to be a softkey to enable IQ output. Based on measurement with an oscilloscope, there is nothing happening at the I/Q port by default. Is it possible to get an I/Q output from an X6100?

R1CBU FT8 Power restriction 18
Just started using RiCBU firmware and it's great. I was just curious as to why he limits FT8 to 5 watts, as the X6100 only does 10 watts at best. I would like a few more watts to compensate for my poor location which makes it difficult to be heard.

TRX Brass progress 2
Would is be possible to get periodic updates on the TRX Brass progress? I realize it's somewhat off topic but I haven't found any other forum where this is being discussed. I've read through r1cbu.ru and forgive me but I'm not sure I'm up to speed enough to know what I'm looking at. It looks like there might be some kind of CAD files for machining the case and maybe making a circuit board. There appears to be active software development and there's links to AliExpress in Russia for some of the parts. My two biggest questions are: is there enough information on there to build one and has anyone done so? I'm also content to be patient. I know this sort of thing takes a while to get right and I'd rather not have something half baked. I also don't want to divert much of Oleg's time from design and testing. I'm hoping eventually someone will offer kits or ready-built versions. Thanks, Daniel AB0ZY

Port USB DEV 4
My Xiegu X6100 has a problem, the USB DEV port is damaged. The internal part of the DEV port needs to be unsoldered and destroys the 3 components surrounded by yellow, blue and black (resistor and/or capacitor) -See attached photo - Does anyone have the electrical diagram of this part and the value of these components? Without this I can no longer connect the TX to the PC!! Thank you very much Marc

ALC not displaying anywhere. Does R1CBU work with WFview? 3
Any fix to the missing ALC indicator? It doesn¡¯t display on the radio, and with FLrig and WFview the ALC meter is pinned at full regardless of power, mic gain, power, etc. i even check CIV logs on FLrig and no ALC output was visible. at this point I¡¯m using the power meter (on radio or FLrig) as my level control for digital. i can see ALC numbers on radio screen with R1CBU FW, but since my station is 100% remote I use WFview/FLrig for hands free control. thanks all!

#Digital XI6100 - WSJT-X - Setup problems - MacOS&Windows 11 ARM64 #Digital
I had a similar experiance to you, Brian, but in my case the issue was a Configear port adapter (USB/HDMI/Audio/Ethernet hub). My X6100 USB Dev port worked fine connected directly into my Windows 10 desktop using the same USBC => USBC => USBA adapter I have been using for my QRP Labs QMX on my HP Laptop via the Configear port adapter on the laptop. However, that did NOT work with the X6100 via the same Configear hub I used for my QMX. I had to connect directly to the laptop, either via the same USB C => USB C => USB A adapter I use for my QMX or via the original X6100 Cable USB C => USB A => USB C adapter into the laptop's USB C port (which is preferable because I use the USB A port on the laptop for a mouse bluetooth plug).

Microphone issue (8V supply broken on radio) 2
Issue/Symptoms: *Xiegu 6100 Microphone is not picking up audio and is permanently TXing *No 8V is getting to the microphone from the radio. *No lights on the microphone. * Removing the microphone and replacing with a spare piece of RJ45 plugged in the radio: PTT works when PTT line is Ground to the GND pin on the radio * Voltage across GND pin on the radio and the +8V pin reads 0V Likely cause: Incorrectly wired alternative microphone/headset plugged in (senior moment) and heard a 'pop' inside the radio (oops!). In all other function, the radio is working fine. Any thoughts on which parts to have look at? It's difficult without a schematic. Also, until it's fixed, would it be possible to use a gaming-type headset (electret) with an externally supplied 8V supply onto the MIC pin (with the MIC +ve) and Headset MIC Ground to MICE pin? Thank you for any advice/guidance Carl

Feature request: manual tuning support 3
Greetings, I would like to propose support in the GUI for manual tuning external matching networks aka antenna tuners, for example when using Magloops - the built-in autotuner is not very useful for that application. Here is a description of the proposed operation: - a submenu with at least two buttons: "Manual Tune" and "Set Tune Power" (default 100mW) - Sequence: pressing "Manual Tune" button saves current mode and power, switches to FM, sets output power to the value stored under "Set Tune Power", mutes the mic audio and then activates the transmitter. The SWR meter is enlarged, so it can be read from greater distances. Now you have both hands free to twiddle knobs on the external antenna tuner or the magloop. - a second press of the "Manual Tune" button turns off the transmitter and restores mode and power to the values before the tune operation and unmutes mic audio. If implemented, together with a 3dB power attenuator this also makes the X6100 into a nice RF power signal generator. 3dB attenuation equates to 6dB return loss, so that even with a shorted or open load the SWR never rises above S=3. Keeps the PA stage and ultimately the owner happy. Oleg, Georgy, Franco: any hidden problems with that? Thoughts? Ideas? 73, Rainer DG1SMD

x6100 firmware v base ISO 5
Hi all. So does the iso on the SD contain both the updated firmware and the base software. Or is the base uploaded differently. I have updated my firmware (a few repeats) which is successful but the base firmware remains corrupted. I cant understand. If the firmware updated why doesn't the base update or over right. Are they both stored in the MSU ? I have heard "bootloader" mentioned a few times, what's that ? Radio out of action for 4 weeks now. Thanks for any feedback.

Full Install ( not just running from an SDCard) 4
Hi Folks, I have done some searching but can't seem to find a procedure, if at all possible, for doing an actual install rather then just burning and running from the SDCard. Can someone kindly point me in the right direction ? If a full install is actually possible are you testing using the full install or just from an SDCard ? The latest version with the simple theme is truly excellent, hence my question about a full install.. Cheers

x6100 - firmware update - what actually happens 7
So when you do a x6100 firmware upgrade, the radio starts and a screen dialog tells you what's happening and automatically shuts down. So at this point what has been written to where ?. Then you take the sd card out and re-start. At this re-start what is written to where ? Thanks
