Issue/Symptoms:?
*Xiegu 6100 Microphone is not picking up audio and is permanently TXing
*No 8V is getting to the microphone from the radio.?
*No lights on the microphone.
* Removing the microphone and replacing with a spare piece of RJ45 plugged in the radio: PTT works when PTT line is Ground to the GND pin on the radio
* Voltage across GND pin on the radio and the +8V pin reads 0V

Likely cause: Incorrectly wired alternative microphone/headset plugged in (senior moment) and heard a 'pop' inside the radio (oops!).

In all other function, the radio is working fine.

Any thoughts on which parts to have look at? It's difficult without a schematic. Also, until it's fixed, would it be possible to use a gaming-type headset (electret) with an externally supplied 8V supply onto the MIC pin (with the MIC +ve) and Headset MIC Ground to MICE pin?
