Re: Xiegu 6100 - R1CBU Firmware

I have the same problem, it keeps calling for ever.
Love the software.

Re: X6100 has no power in transmission #antenna-power #bugs #dc-power

I had the same situation with my 6100. I had it for a few months but only used the receiver. Once I started trying to transmit with it I found no output, all bands, all modes. I worked with my dealer (Radioddity) and they wound up sending me a replacement unit under warranty. My replacement works fine, all bands and all modes.
?
Sadly I can offer no information as to the root cause of the problem. Others in this group who had a similar problem stated that they solved it with a firmware update. This solution did not solve my problem. Good luck!

Thanks, no I hadn't tried... but both in ON and OFF the same problem happens as before.

Re: Xiegu 6100 - R1CBU Firmware

Hi. I was busy by porting this firmware to X6200 (almost finished) and implementing a compressor within X6100 BASE firmware (unsuccessful yet). I hope I'll finish these tasks and return to the X6100 GUI app in a few weeks.

It's been mentioned before. Can you look at introducing a time out on failed calls ?

Sometimes my Xiegu replies to a stations call but does not necessarily finish the contact - as a resut it sits there for hours sending the same info back to the station who may have gone off line on faded never to return.

The other thing worth looking at is adding the WSPR mode.

Thanks de GW4DVB

K8SAS,
Nice find - ordered and set it up with powerpole input and a dc plug output for the X6100. So far working great. Thanks.

Re: X6100 has no power in transmission #antenna-power #bugs #dc-power

Hi Mauro,
you don’t tell us how was your Charger option on or off during your tests.?
Maybe that could influence your issue.?

X6100 has no power in transmission #antenna-power #bugs #dc-power

Hi,
it happens to me that the X6100 gives a very short "hit" of transmission and then does not emit anything.
I specify, I give a call in CW (I use mostly CW but in SSB it is the same thing).
I see that it gives a peak of power and then the power goes to zero. I put another radio in listening and I see that some power comes out but it must be very little (I do not have a power meter that reads such low powers) but tone and modulation work. The reception works well as always.
I tried to do factory resets, install recent and older versions, I tried with R1CBU. I tried with internal battery, external, 13.6V of the Yaesu power supply but I did not find anyone who wants to see what it has. I also tried with ATU ON and OFF. I scanned with APP SWR and the scan works (the YAESU hears the BEEPS) but the scale is flat at 1:1. It is true that X6100 does not have huge costs but not having a repairman is embarrassing and unpleasant.
Does anyone have suggestions that I have not tried?
Thanks for any support or ideas.

Re: X6100 with FT8CN Bluetooth connection

Why bother?? Just use R1CBU version with built in FT8.

Re: X6100 with FT8CN Bluetooth connection

Hi Brian.?

So far it’s impossible using internal Bluetooth. I’ve successfully connected mine using USB cable instead

Yvon, how do you like the Hermes Lite 2, and how well does the MicroPA50+ work with it?? I sometimes use a MicroPA50 (no plus) in the field and love it.? I did the resistor mod to increase the SWR alarm point.? I’m thinking of getting a Hermes for the shack but wondering about amplifying and CW performance (latency).

Thanks, Tony KE1TG

I use a 12ah battery connected to the X6100. It only takes 9 VDC to acquire 10 watts out. So I use this;

Works great, stays cool, I get 10 watts and the 12 ah lasts longer.
Just a tip to share with everyone.

Regarding the Max voltage mentioned by Xiegu, yes, it might work above 13.8 Vdc. but the radio will run hotter. I wouldn't trust the Xiegu Max specs.?

The 11.0 Vdc, is just to make the radio run cooler. It will still give you 10W but with less heat and less electronic stress for the components.

?

What a few of us have done, it that we use a small device called Drok Charging Module. You put in 13.8 and you can adjust the output down to 11 or less. It helps keeping down the heat.

It is a 75W NC Power Supply Module/Charger/Voltage Regulator, DC 6~32V, Output voltage: DC 1.25~32V, Output curr...

?

It is very cheap and helps a lot. Make sure you order the case of it, if you want to try it..

?

In fact, the internal batteries in the Xiegu, only will give you 8 volts or less. That's why you only charge them with the original charger that came with the radio. If you charge them with 12 Volts, your batteries will charge, but won't last long.

?

For you guys, in the US and/or Europe, it is easier to order a new radio when this one dies. You get a new one in 3 to 5 days. Warranty issues? no problem just send it back for repair/replacement.?

For me in YS, it is not easy. Even if I have active warranty for a radio, to send the radio for repair to China or the US/Europe is so expensive and takes a couple of months.?

No way! I try to take care of my radio as much as I can because for me, this is like a trip with no return.

A lot of information, thank you Rob.

Looks like the replacement board will not solve my problem.

I have been through the radio's belly and couldn't find anything visually.

I never use more than 3 watts when doing ft8 or I use an external amplifier.

As for running the radio while charging I normally don't do it but sometimes

might forget about it.

What is more a problem is the external supply of maximum 11v. Most ham

supplies output 13.8v as required by most Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood and others.

Even the Bioenno batteries have a voltage above 11v. Isn't the Xiegu spec shows

15v max?

The only thing on my 6100 that is a show stopper with the DEV port not working

is that I cannot connect a GPS. Not a big deal I can synch with the internet at

home. I don't do ft8 portable.
