Re: Morgan systems M303 coaxial surge suppressors used with the LA1k amp
I am not sure what to tell you as far as price, I have seen them for sale at between $2700 to $2900 for being in excellent condition and under two years old. Maybe an older amp may not fetch as much

Re: High SWR causing "Bypass SWR" error when in STBY
I contacted Mark at Palstar and performed all his recommended tests, including connecting a 50 ohm dummy load direct to the LA-1K RF Output. It should be noted, I have two LA-1K amplifiers. My second
Re: Morgan systems M303 coaxial surge suppressors used with the LA1k amp
I have Morgan M-303 Suppressors on my antennas and have no problems on any band. ?I’m using an FT-DX10 to an HF-AUTO tuner with a Hexbeam and Endfed antennas. ?All work great through the

Re: High SWR causing "Bypass SWR" error when in STBY
I have the same issue after upgrading my Yaesu FTDX10. I’ve already tried resetting the radio. ‘73 KE0WNL

Re: High SWR causing "Bypass SWR" error when in STBY
Hi, Tom Never had that problem but it sounds to me more like an intermittent SWR issue caused by bad coax, faulty PL-259 or bad SWR in the load itself (ant or dummy load). Does it work ok into an

Re: Morgan systems M303 coaxial surge suppressors used with the LA1k amp
Hi James, I read your note concerning the LA1K with interest since I have a LA1k that I am not using.? I have several Alpha Delta surge suppressor units in the coax between my HEX beam antenna and

Re: 18MHz drain Voltage supply Bypass problem
Hi Raul, Literally within days of taking delivery of my brand new LA-1K, purchased directly from Palstar, I was operating the thing (on 249.7VAC according to my DVM) with the FTDX101D as the exciter
Re: 18MHz drain Voltage supply Bypass problem
Sorry, I thought it was doing it on all bands You’re good to go Barry?

Re: 18MHz drain Voltage supply Bypass problem
Barry I will try all this. Good idea to weed out stray RF issues and other things. I have a dummy load to try as well. I hope I find a fix before spending $$ on UPS trips and hoping I dont get hit

Re: 18MHz drain Voltage supply Bypass problem
Raul, Here is what I would do. 1.8:1 will not put the la1k into bypass, so I would take the tuner out for 17m testing. See if it still goes into bypass. The La1k goes into bypass for 2

Re: 18MHz drain Voltage supply Bypass problem
If you have blown one or both of the LDMOS outputs your VSWR will be off and it will never load up going into bypass Barry?

Re: 18MHz drain Voltage supply Bypass problem
Raul, It still could be the issue and you wont really know until you put a scope on it. The LA1K will go into bypass with the slightest overshoot over 50 watts. The latest firmware. That being

Re: 18MHz drain Voltage supply Bypass problem
Thanks for the note.. however. Over power input is not the issue. I'm using 20 to 50 watts in. The bypass error starts at 17 watts input I never have put over 50w in on any band. Raul W4AWI

18MHz drain Voltage supply Bypass problem
I started using my 2022 LA-1K this week in earnest. I was checking the power on each band as well as some CQs on CW or answering some SSB CQs. Testing bands 40m to 10m I found a problem on 17m
