Re: Roster media?
#rosterimage
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýmrclassicman, Is there another step that I am missing as neither of these methods has worked for me. I attempt to drag the photo from my file but as soon as I get over the media window it turns to a circle with a line through it. I have tried these methods both from DecoderPro and PanelPro. It is not a very big deal for me but I just thought if it can be, why not. lol . My images are JPG. . What version of JMRI are you running? Some previous versions of JMRI had this problem. Re: moving files to new computer
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTom,
Since you are moving between two similar Mac computers, you would probably be better off copying the entire Settings directory from the old to the new. On all Mac computers it is: /users/username/Library/Preferences/JMRI/ That should be fine unless you have manually changed the User Files Location and/or the Roster Location to somewhere outside the Settings Location (you can check that on the old computer). This may help: <> Dave in Australia |

Ok, scrollbars fixed¡ Try it and let me know what you think. (BTW: in case you didn't know: you can zoom in/out with the track wheel while the alt (option) modifier is down.)
Oh, and check your grid sizes; usually for english I use 16 (pixels to an inch) and 12 (inches to a foot); for metric I use 10/10. |

Re: New User
You don¡¯t need anything in your roster to fun a loco from WiThrottle. ?You just enter the address as you would on the Powercab and run it. ?However, if a roster entry exists, WiThrottle will use it to annotate function buttons, but that¡¯s all entirely optional. ?If you have the Powercab already connected to JMRI, start the WiThrottle server in JMRI, download and install WiThrottle, connect to the JMRI computer (note Conrad's recent firewall issues) and get running. |

JMRI to Arduino connection failure
Hi everyone,
Few weeks ago I started building a DCC++ central connected to JMRI ...and? encountered a few problem. Some are solved but that one is resisting me. The issue is the connection from JMRI to a arduino Mega like described in Geoff Bunza 's article: https://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/34417. I read all the relevant articles on that topics in the french website "Locoduino" and on MRH site I made a search here on JMRI users with keywords: " 'javapackage' has no attribut 'beans' in script" nothing relevant!. I re-installed JMRI to try to remove an old "jython_default.py" file. (advise from Geoff Bunza) As it seems to come from javapackage I have no acces to that package and I have very limited skills in javascrypt. (python is ok for me). Have you ever had the:? " unable to excecute script..."?? (see system console below). Thanks a lot in advance for your help. ´¡²Ô»å°ù¨¨²õ. |

I need a bit of advice, I am new to JMRI, I have an NCE Powercab running about 12 loco¡¯s DCC, I have downloaded both Decoder Pro and Panel Pro on my laptop successfully and installed the NCE USB Interface which has allowed me to control points thro¡¯ Panel Pro. I have set up a roster of all my loco stock but ultimately I intend to go Wi throttle on an iPad but for now the slider on the laptop is fine. Where do I go from here, do I have to set up a programming track and download the decoder info for each loco into JMRI or what is the procedure to get loco¡¯s moving from the laptop. Would appreciate any help or advice, sorry if I¡¯m asking an obvious answer.

Thanks Klaus,
I've been busy and running trains 7 1/2 hours a day at a holiday setup in an airplane museum.? Just DC though, no sound, etc. As for 4.19.2 I'll give it a try in a while as I am recovering from my v4.18 install.? My firewall blocked EngineDriver.? Drove my crazy. Conrad |
Watching this thread - We're experiencing the same problem with CUPS and Steve's image on a Pi4.??
Verified the pi is in lpadmin.? Doesn't want to take the username/password. Have successfully used CUPS on other standard Raspian systems.? So will be following to see if there are any other suggestions, or if maybe Steve has made other system changes that might interfere with CUPS. With the holidays, I haven't had time to build a regular JMRI image to see if cups works on vanilla Buster. If I learn anything I'll report it here.? Perfectly willing to believe I screwed something up myself. gs? |

All "Pros" work with EngineDriver. I'm happy and sane. Now to run trains. Conrad |

Don't remember ever having to make a firewall exception to get EngineDriver to work, but who knows.
Thanks again, now on to DecoderPro, SoundPro and all the other pros:) Have only gone half crazy doing this. Conrad |

Yup, it's my Windows 10 firewall.? Now to figure out what is name of app to add as an exception.
Ah, in firewall advanced settings found panelpro.exe blocked.? Now it works. Thank you, thank you Conrad |

Dan, Make sure that you have not created a "None" connection. ?Also, verify that Preferences >> Defaults are correct after correcting the Connection information. Incidentally all my transits only have forward elements, and each time I add a new block I redo the signal logic and the sections and transits from scratch.I have had too many problems to do anythng else at present. Bill F |
