Re: DecoderPro Preferences folder is empty
Never mind the 4 page report on registry, pointless, unless someone else wants it.? I've been thru the Win10 registry several times myself deleting anything relating to JMRI.? While it is a interesting endeavour, it is pretty futile.
Did the DecoderPro Icon get created on your desktop ? If you view the content of C:\Program Files (X86)\JMRI??? do you see LaunchJMRI? , Application,? (48KB) ? This folder is present since InstallTEST can be run.? InstallTEST is a .BAT (batch file)? so these are rarely quarantined.? .EXE files get fenced up. I just installed JMRI 4.17.6 on my wife's 64 bit Win10 HP portable. It installed and saw the Digitrax PR4. Worked fine, even InstallTEST found LaunchJMRI. Other thing I can think may have happened is? Windows Defender / Security blocked LaunchJMRI. Marc |

Re: PanelPro Display Issue for AnyRail Export
开云体育I am experiencing what sounds like might be a similar phenomenon. I have a panel developed in panel editor.? The panel is quite wide. Upon initial loading the track icons on the right portion (say about 10%) do not show. Other icons such as text labels and sensor icons do show.? Now if I drag the right hand edge of the panel far to the right, the track icons appear.? Now I can drag the right edge back to the original position and all is ok. I don't even need to release the initial drag, just sweep out to right field someplace and then back. I am on version 4.17.5+Rdf73700 with Java version 1.8.0_231.? I did notice this on a previous version but don't have recollection of just when or what version. I should mention that I have two monitors position left to right.? The left monitor is a wide screen monitor on which the panel fills the screen.Another thing that is bothersome,? the first time I reposition a JMRI window and then attempt to select something in the window? (say a menu item), there is a very noticeable delay (like 3 to 5 seconds).? This seems to occur only one time (per session). Jay Janzen St. Charles, MO On 12/8/2019 8:05 AM, Phil in gorgeous

WiFi Interface
Nicholas Geti
I found a vendor who has built a WiFi set of modules that can be installed in a battery powered locomotive. His software outputs to an Ethernet network router that connects wireless to his WiFi modules.
It has been awhile since I looked at JMRI so my question has anyone built an interface that outputs Ethernet protocols to a router from Windows 10 computers rather than to COM ports and LOCO-Net? If there is then I can control my outdoor railroad using radio controlled, battery powered locomotives and accessories and I don't have to get DCC from the rails. Nicholas |

Following your link?for F-Secure, I have nothing quarantined. I will start a thorough scan before I quit for tonight - just because. I have been looking at the logs & have not gotten all the way through them to see if there is anything that warrants me to send them to you. Since this is a "new" install, they are not very long so I just have to finish looking at them. I did see some Errors listed but I did not have the PR4 powered on with the usb plugged into the computer when I started DecoderPro. I also remembered that I did not go through the registry before I installed this latest test version. I documented all the entries that had JMRI within an entry excerpt?for some that were related to reports/spreadsheets I had created. The report is 4 pages of landscape orientation & how do I attach it to this thread? Or do I just copy & paste the entire document? I have no clue where to look for instructions relating to this question so I will gamble & include the Word document. Sorry if that is a no-no, I'm guessing it will get deleted. Re: Syncing a Fast Clock
Charlie,
A lot will depend on who is the master clock. To have JMRI as the master clock and it drive both an NCE and LocoNet with that data is pretty straight forward. Having the master on one connection and making the other one a slave, you'd have to try and see. I don't think it is a combination we get very often. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.org www.syracusemodelrr.org |

Syncing a Fast Clock
My system is NCE Procab with a stand alone Loconet. I am using the latest test release4.17-6. I have a Logic Rail Fast clock ( Loconet ) ?hooked up to my Stand alone Loconet and it is working fine, the clock starts up the minuit power is applied. I would like to be able to have it sync with internal NCE fast clock, thru, Jmri. Is this Possible. Under the Tools menu, then fast clock there is an area to adjust and set the Loconet clock, but, when change the values or?set the time,?it doesn't change anything.
Any help would be appreciated. V/R, Charlie? |

Hello,
My name is Craig and I am new to the user group. I love the JMRI program and have used it in the past at both home and a club I used to belong to. I recently moved and can't seem to get a sold green light on my PR3, it seems to flash about every 2 seconds. of course I get the "timeout talking to command stn" error On a mac mini running Yosemite 10.10.5 JMRI Decoder pro 4.16 updated Java (decoder pro runs, my old roster is there) checked the serial port in Terminal and have the correct port set Everything seems correct. It all worked at my old house. it was about 6 months ago that it was set up last. I can't remember if the Mac OS did any updating, but we did update JMRI however I did that when I was already having this issue. I am sure its something simple I am missing. I have a 70 year collection of my departed fathers engines to manage as well as my own. Its about 25 rubbermaid boxes of engines alone...need a program like JMRI to help manage this for sure! Re: Double Slip Problems
#layouteditor
Hi Dave
Great to hear from you again.? Thanks for looking through and commenting on P2a12b. I shall put that right. Regarding Sensors, again your comment is correct. I changed strategy as can be seen in the North ladder turnouts, Sensors are taught to the Servo modules and I standardised on those turnouts in the North Ladder to use events 10 upwards, in pairs, for each servo to avoid any potential clash with servo and Sensor events (each module can have a maximum of 8 Servos attached). This is part update I planned to carry out when I resolved the P9/10 issue. I also discovered that I did not have a proper handle on assigning the A and B turnouts. This I found when I built up the two slips in the North Ladder. When I first assigned them to these Slips, I took the end with the 'blue connector as being the 'A' turnout and it resulted in problems when testing. I reversed the assignment in the slip Edit Dialog and this cleared the problem. I had in mind to change P2a/1b and will also do that now. I am looking forward to completing the layout panel and then I shall start to implement the signalling that you tutored me on.? Perhaps Steve will help me with the North Ladder Slip.? Best wishes Peter |

Re: Double Slip Problems
#layouteditor
Peter, Turnout P1b has Inverted selected. ?I try to avoid using Inverted if at all possible. ?It is a potential issue I like to avoid. The P2a/P1b slip definition is messed up. ?The Turnout A/Turnout B states are inconsistent. ?You don't have a Thrown/Thrown pair. ? suspect that you want the B-D route to the be primary. ?I would make the first row Thrown/Thrown and the third row Closed/Closed. I noticed that some turnouts, including slip turnouts, appear to be sharing event ids. ?Turnout P2a (MT-N266E2) uses feedback sensor "P2a @ ON End" (MS+N266E2). ?Since I know nothing about MERG, this might be valid. Dave Sand ----- Original message ----- From: "peter.s.drury via Groups.Io" <peter.s.drury@...> Subject: [jmriusers] Double Slip Problems #layouteditor Date: Sunday, December 08, 2019 11:51 AM I am having problems with two Double Slips - P2a/1b and P10/9. I have carried out checks on P10/9 it down to the Layout editor to map where the problem potentially lies and have narrowed the Layout Editor. Please find the pictures describing this at?/g/jmriusers/album?id=231878. The panel is in the background, The Turnout Table is at the top with only the turnouts of interest visible. Below and to the left is the MERG FCU showing the received messages on CBUS and the fial window is the MERG CBUS Console. I have posted the events as they progresed through the check. The first image describes how I set the Double Slip - both P10 and P9 in the Closed condition (Branch to Platform 3.) At every stage I checked the physical state on the layout and confirmed that this, and the messages, conformed with my expectations (Note: I did add two sensors to P9? to check if there was any quirk. As can be seen, and from I described above, P9 is not acting as it should. Just for the record, I have made extensive changes having previously set the turnouts to Internal addresses and converted these to MERG Node addresses. These changes may have caused problems within JMRI. I also realise that I need to tidy up to create a consistent approah throughout. My current panel file can be found here.? Thanks for reading?
