Re: IC-7000 corrupted eeprom
If this was the case James wouldn't your Main board have written it back to it's own personality..?
You didn't sday if you'd done a hard reset.

Re: Overheating during a contest
I've never had a heat issue on my 2011 era IC-7000, but that's most likely because I do not do a lot of continuous duty/digital modes on it for any extended time periods. I also have it feeding an

Re: Overheating during a contest
This heat question has been batted around on this list for some time. One side says that the ICOM engineers provided for proper heat distribution, others say that the rig needs additional ways of

Re: Overheating during a contest
I added two really small fans to the back of the radio? glued to the rear heatsinks.
I added a pair of 4 pin tuner connectors, one for power from the radio and the other to a tuner. I also added an

Re: Overheating during a contest
I've added two TO-3 heat sinks to the left side of my IC 7000 to keep the DSP section much cooler.
You could do the same on the right side to help keep the PAs cool.
I had to file the TO-3 holes a

Re: Overheating during a contest
My 7000 has always tended to run hot but I built up a pair of 12v fans with a standalone bracket to maintain a decent supply of cooling air.
Have always used this and have never had the driver issue

Re: Overheating during a contest
My IC7000 has ran hot since new, and I never really worried about it. ( on most days all day). Then I read about a fan mod where a simple mod would allow fan to run continuously.
I did the mod and it

Overheating during a contest
This fall, I was participating in the WA QSO party (Salmon Run) on CW. The 2nd day, 4 hr before time was up, I was running (as opposed to search and pounce) on 15 and 10M. The 7000 was at full power,

Re: IC-7000 corrupted eeprom
(2020) Japanese bandplan includes 6m.
Not sure if you have put one of your 7000 boards inside a Japanese 7000 permanently but there is a diode matrix in the 7000 just like most modern transceivers so

Think of it as a Cab tractor truck to replace a Toyota Corolla.
Its way to big, and its characteristics are not even a remote match.
It should get
