Re: goodbye...
I don't know how N1EVH went this long without having experienced being kicked off a list. I've been bounced off more than one Yahoo group and many times off the AMSAT listserv. Over the years I've had to resubscribe or change web browser. I think the first Yahoo group I joined was this 817group. The big topic was heated discussion about Power Poles (Anderson connectors) pro and con and what to do about finals zapping. But, to be clear about it, this group has been very, very helpful over the years. I've always appreciated the work of the moderators.

Re: goodbye...
Hi all ? My understanding is there was no human involvement in this process, so apologies to the user but it is out of our control. Just for full transparency the only time that a spam message would prompt manual action from moderators would be for a first time subscriber. In that case the moderators get a notification of the first post, and make a judgement whether to accept or reject the user. It is very obvious if someone?is attempt to spam the group. I am happy to accept email to my personal account from any group member who would like clarification of their membership status, or if they have any issues. Have a nice day. Regards, Mark. Re: goodbye...
开云体育As a reminder, the reason the group moved was because Yahoo killed Yahoo Groups.I'm in 12-18 groups.io groups, and I've never heard of this issue before. If it was as I described, an appropriate reaction to a member tagging an email as spam, then this isn't a problem - it's exactly what it should do. If you send someone an email, and they tell you they consider your email spam, would you keep sending that member emails from that group, or would start challenging their opinion? In this case he was told he was unsubscribed, and told how to reverse the action and resubscribe. If this is wrong, how should groups.io react when a member tags their groups.io email as spam and tells groups.io as much? The OP effectively said stop sending me emails (either through their actions or settings in their email client), then complained when he was unsubscribed... Re: goodbye...
Hi Ken,
That could certainly be the likely scenario. As admin I can only see the logs of what happened and not what was done to trigger it. Across all my groups I see this most days and I don't know exactly how it's done. It's happening to a close friend of mine on a regular basis and I've always put it down to clumsy fingers but I may be wrong. It's never happened to me personally but I do have my own email server and minimal client, my ISP is also a business provider with zero restrictions or filtering so I don't tend to get these issues. Here in the UK two of the main residential ISPs (BTinternet & Sky) seem to have the most problems when it comes to this sort of thing. Btinternet is notorious for filtering emails including by content and one of the worst for bouncing emails. Sky mark a lot of genuine as spam. Regards Martyn M0TEB? |

Yes,? I see unsubscription notices for various?groups I am involved with multiple times a day - Your description is exactly what happened. The OP may not have even 'fat fingered' anything - some email clients are very sensitive when it comes to their spam settings. In all cases, Groups.io sends an email to immediately allow re-subscription.This article is particularly helpful:??/helpcenter/faq/1/group-member-faq/q-i-got-a-message-that-i Kindest regards, Doug Jackson em: doug@... ph: 0414 986878 Check out my awesome clocks at Follow my amateur radio adventures at ----------------------------------------------------------- Just like an old fashioned letter, this email and any files transmitted with it should probably be treated as confidential and intended solely for your own use.? OP was a subscriber to the group OP marked (perhaps inadvertently) a groups.ip email as spam His mail client informed groups.io that an email sent was spam Groups.io acted on the spam notice, unsubscribed the member, and sent a note exposing what happened and how to reverse the action (re-subscribe) Frustrated he was unsubscribed "for no reason" he resubscribes, sends a goodbye message, then unsubscribed. that is what appears to have happened, best as I can figure. Presumably, the OP 'fat-fingered' his email client and mistakenly grouped in a groups.io email with several other emails and 'marked them as spam'. Paul,Well, on the two groups.io lists I own and manage, when this happens the unsubscribe / re-subscribe Email is definitely legitimate and from groups.io. Joe, list updates on spam sites get forwarded to your device because someone may have reported the site as spam or because it is similar to a link you have reported as spam in the past.? Norton, for instance, will update at the interval you choose, hourly, daily, weekly, etc.? A slight inconvenience for added protection
