Re: goodbye...

Yes,?

I see unsubscription notices for various?groups I am involved with multiple times a day - Your description is exactly what happened.

The OP may not have even 'fat fingered' anything - some email clients are very sensitive when it comes to their spam settings.

In all cases, Groups.io sends an email to immediately allow re-subscription.This article is particularly helpful:??/helpcenter/faq/1/group-member-faq/q-i-got-a-message-that-i

Just like an old fashioned letter, this email and any files transmitted with it should probably be treated as confidential and intended solely for your own use.?

Please note that any interesting spelling is usually my own and may have been caused by fat thumbs on a tiny tiny keyboard.

Should any part of this message prove to be useful in the event of the imminent Zombie?Apocalypse then the sender bears no?personal, legal, or moral responsibility for any outcome resulting from its?usage unless the result of said usage is the unlikely defeat of the Zombie Hordes?in which case the sender takes full credit?without any theoretical or actual?legal liability. :-)

Be nice to your parents.

Go outside and do something awesome - Draw, paint, walk, setup a radio?station, go fishing or sailing - just do something that makes you happy.

I'm not 100% clear on this, can someone verify this is roughly what transpired:

OP was a subscriber to the group
OP marked (perhaps inadvertently) a groups.ip email as spam
His mail client informed that an email sent was spam
Groups.io acted on the spam notice, unsubscribed the member, and sent a note exposing what happened and how to reverse the action (re-subscribe)
Frustrated he was unsubscribed "for no reason" he resubscribes, sends a goodbye message, then unsubscribed.

that is what appears to have happened, best as I can figure.

Presumably, the OP 'fat-fingered' his email client and mistakenly grouped in a email with several other emails and 'marked them as spam'.
