My understanding is there was no human involvement in this process, so apologies to the user but it is out of our control.
Just for full transparency the only time that a spam message would prompt manual action from moderators would be for a first time subscriber. In that case the moderators get a notification of the first post, and make a judgement whether to accept or reject the user. It is very obvious if someone?is attempt to spam the group.
I am happy to accept email to my personal account from any group member who would like clarification of their membership status, or if they have any issues.

I am not sure but it may also be possible that some spam filters trigger
this behavior automatically, without the knowledge of the user.
In any event, it is annoying but essentially harmless since the action
is accompanied by a re-subscribe Email.
