Re: What air compressor for Mac's clamps?
Alex,
Thanks for the details. Good to know that it is quiet and vibration free. There is a lot of metal around so likely heat won¡¯t be an issue.

Re: ProLock spindle locking mech
I too would be interested in a ProLock for my 1 1/4¡± spindle. It sounds like this is a special order project. If a group purchase happens, just tell me where and when to send

Re: What air compressor for Mac's clamps?
Hi Imran,
There is no vibration, and no rattle. There are no belts or pulleys. The compressor has four small rubber pads that were used to mount it to the original frame. I left those in place and

Re: What air compressor for Mac's clamps?
Hi Alex,
This is pretty cool but I would have never considered it because of vibration. A year or so ago, I placed my horizontal tank compressor under saw table. It is 2-stage belt driven setup.

Re: What air compressor for Mac's clamps?
Hi Mike,
I didn¡¯t want to run the big compressor just for Mac¡¯s clamps. My solution was to purchase one of the little Senco brand compressors with a 1 gallon tank that the big box stores sell

Re: ProLock spindle locking mech
Felder resells them for certain machines and for either saw or shaper, just look up "quick-lock" on the e-shop:

Re: ProLock spindle locking mech
Dave,
ProLock makes them for saw arbors and shaper spindles.
We are talking about the shaper spindle here.
The spindle caps were 100 euro each, that must have been 2015 or 2017.

Re: ProLock spindle locking mech
Is this for shaper cutters or saw blades? If for shaper cutters what does
it cost?
Thanks,

Re: ProLock spindle locking mech
Since this is a custom job, I thought I mention the other quick securing method is pneumatic. Anyone, knows if that requires a special spindle or can it be done with standard spindle?

Re: ProLock spindle locking mech
It allows you to change cutters without opening the saw and locking the shaft - hand tighten a nut and then a small set screw type mechanism and done

Re: ProLock spindle locking mech
Michael,
It was not stock. I sent in measurements and they made the spindle caps.
Since they made them once they probably have the design.
My first spindle cap had a thin top cap and broke, the
