Sell my 101-07301 and my 101-07403 5
I'm preparing to move and need to downsize my shop a bit. I'm selling my Atlas-Craftsman 101-07301 6"x18" lathe and my 101-07403 12"x36" lathe as well as two Clausing mills. I'm cleaning the machines tomorrow to take photos and will also inventory included tooling. All machines will be posted on Facebook Market place as well. I'm located in Sherman, Texas, about 60 miles north of Dallas. I assume my next shop will be somewhat smaller than my current 2200sqft building so I need to downsize a bit. I still have the Wells-Index, South Bend 9A lathe, South Bend 16" lathe (10' bed), Atlas 7B shaper, Gorton P1-2 pantograph, Delta-Milwaukee Toolmaker grinder, 6 welders, multiple grinders and other smaller machines and more hand tools than i want to admit to owning to keep me busy for the last 10-20 years of my life. So I feel I can pass some machines I rarely use on to someone who can keep them busy. I possibly may decide to sell my Atlas shaper in the near future as well. These machines were my entry to home shop machining and taught me a lot.

NO atlas content Hardig lathe fs
NORTH CAROLINA Surplus Property has a Hardig tool room lathe in their on line auction with collets last night was at $850 iirc. On Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 04:53:07 PM EST, Billself <billselfjr@...> wrote: I'm sure they won't be anything great but I just need something to hold mill bits without slipping and this seems to be the cheapest option with that many holders that comes with it, I will be able to cut different size keyway as needed. But it won't be this week when I order them. It'll be at least another week before I get around to it. But I will let you know what they are like when I get them. Just got to many irons in the fire right now and no time to get everything done.

Atlas mill knee mystery version of the manual
I think the threaded hole is for the table stop that's used for the hand miller version MH model) of the mill. See page 14 of the 1948 version of the manual.

Atlas mill knee mystery 4
I have two confusions today regarding the cleaning and re-assembly of my mill. Upon disassembly of the knee, I heard a rattle. The rattle turned out to be a ball bearing 0.28 in diameter. I have looked in the bulletins and found no item like it. Also, the part listed as 10F-46 bearing with bushing is not hex-sided as shown. Rathe mine uses a pin spanner to losen. I wonder if anyone can give insights about the ball - is it just a stray part I inherited from previous owners that has been rattling around waiting for my discovery, or is it needed somewhere? The difference in part 10F-46 is less concerning, but I wonder if that helps narrow the date range of the mache or at least the part. Thanks for any insights.

Tangential Topic 13
This may or may not have anything to do with Atlas/Craftsman, but might give you an idea if you run into a similar problem. I have a Delta 1" belt sander that uses plastic wheels. Some of the wheels are covered with a rubber tire. Anyway, the price for replacement wheels are pretty salty -like 10x more than I paid for the machine. Unable to bring myself to make such a purchase, I got the idea of gluing up a couple of PVC fittings I had laying around and turning it down on my lathe. Turning PVC is not hard, but is a little weird. Here is what I came up with in the end. Maybe someone else can use this idea for some other obscure or expensive part. FYI: I think I had about a .003-.004 interference fit on the bearing. I figured plastic was forgiving enough to ballpark it.
