Hi All. I bought some years ago FT847. Rig is ok and good condition. Some years ago at OH we got extension to 7 MHZ. Here is allowed now up to 7200 kHz, and rsdio can transmit up to 7100 kHz. I have running around web and only mod I found to make it transmit full HF bands. I dont want to that, just missing 100 kHz. Any Ideas ?? 73s de rami,oh6bi

The power switch on my FT-847 is starting to have issues and while I am in the process of locating where to have it replaced, is it advisable to use the power supply to turn the rig on and off? Thanks in advance

Has anyone tried using an 847 on the new experimental 8M band? I've been monitoring 40.680 (FT8) for several days without success. Given the time of year, this is no surprise but, I wonder, how sensitive the radio is at 40Mhz. Has anyone tried transmitting on 40 Mhz? Does the wideband mod enable the radio to xmit on 8M? Hello, I have an 847 that won't transmit while in SAT Mode. The radio works fine in all modes, bands and powers at half-duplex and in split mode but when in SAT Mode, the radio won't transmit. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. '73, John N2HMM

Hello Group - Trying to troubleshoot a Transmit Problem - trying to set-up for FT8 HF. As I adjust RF Power and MIC Gain while transmitting FT8 the -847 cuts out and Display flashes and I loose CAT connection. Note - this also occurs if I use a microphone. As I increase MIC Gain it cuts out. During FT8 HF - as I adjust MIC Gain I get to a little over 10-12W and the radio cuts out. I’ve tied all combinations of FT8 input levels to no avail. What am I doing wrong?? Or is there a problem with the radio?? Phil KD2XN

Hi FT-847 users, I have the problem with my FT-847 that with FM the squelch closes a little, but when turning the knob further to the right, the squelch opens again. If the squelch knob were a clock face and if there is no signal on the VHF/UHF band: So if the knob starts at 7 o'clock and the squelch closes at 8 o'clock, it opens again at about 11 o'clock and then remains open until the right stop. With SSB everything works fine. I would venture over with meters, oscilloscope etc if I knew where to start. Is there a comparator or Schmitt trigger where I can start my search? Hey all, just found this group. Maybe this is a stupid question but bear with me. Is there a way to get RX-only on HF (or disable TX on the the antenna port)? I don’t use HF much in my 847 and got the idea to maybe hook that antenna port up to the RX-out on my FTDX3000. But I don’t want to fry it by accidentally keying up my FT-847. Is something like this viable? Or should I just buy another receiver like I was planning to do before I got this idea… thanks! John KB0GGS

Hi, I have just received a ft847 and I have noticed it does not work and shows error as if it was out of band on 160m and 80m. Please can somebody advise.

Hi all, I have noticed on my "new" FT-847 that the receive audio signal on shortwave is distorted at low audio frequencies. I suspect that the TDA2003H has a defect. At the input pin the signal still looks good, but at the output (also at the speaker jack) it is distorted. Does anyone know the problem? The capacitors in this area look good. Also, the attenuator does not work on shortwave. If you press the button, the audio signal crackles. Bad shopping? 73 de Tom, DJ6TB
