Reversing Loops again
10
I have 3 different places on my layout where I need reversing loops. Here is one of them. Here is a copy/paste from the 3rdPlanit software of my original main yard design. Green are double gaps, black are one rail gaps and the thin black lines are change of radius and not relevent. I was trying to figure out if there was any way to use the DR5013 to sort out the reverse loop labelled BL70R in the diagram. The boosters are different in the connecting tracks. Here is a re-design based on scenario 5.3 using S0, S1, S2 and S3 tracks. I did it to remove the use of multiple boosters and to do it the preferred way. Obviously this loses a lot of storage inside the loop. There is room to add a turnout for more storage, but how does this interact with detection sections etc.

#DR5033 with #YD7001 - Short + Reverse Issue
6
#dr5033
#yd7001
#dr5000
I have #YD7001 connected to #DR5033 via LocoNet B, DR5033 connected via Track Output to #DR5088RC to Rails. K=Outer Rail, J=Inner Rail. The YD7001 track Output is only connected to the YD8116 Track Input. The #YD8116 has 12vDC connected to switch #MP5 turnout motors. Trains can run Straight through the Turnout & through the Branch. No Shorts & wiring confirmed correct. Power up System, Turnout is set Straight. DR5033 green led on. Trains have power on Straight & Branch. Trains can run. Using iTrain, I click the turnout. It switches to Branch. DR5033 'Reverse' blue light comes on (not sure why). However, Train can run through the turnout, no shorts...all good. Feedbacks report correctly as train passes from Branch to Turnout to next section. Can back the train back into the branch; all works fine. *Here is the issue:* However, as soon as I click the turnout to return to straight, YD7001 Stops (red flashing) with Short indicator flashing. DR5033 Reverse Blue led still on, short red led on, power green led flashing. No power to the track. The YD7001 program on Laptop displays in red writing in bottom right corner, BOOSTER 7. If I pull power to the DR5033 then reconnect power, the DR5033 power is flashing green. I then press GO on YD7001, power returns to track and trains can run again. No shorts etc. All is good until I repeat the turnout to branch & return back to Straight. I'm at a loss. Help.

Circuit Breakers
16
Hi, I've noticed that both YamoRC and Digikeijs show connecting their command stations directly to the booster and then directly to the feedback modules. What is the recommendation for adding circuit breakers or not? (eg NCE EB1, not PSXX apparently) And if I use a booster wherever I would put a circuit breaker, would I even need a circuit breaker? Thanks.

YD6016LN-RC inputs going to waste
4
The circuit breaker topic went in an unexpected direction, but I thought I needed some confirmation about another essential requirement - detection. Hence the new topic. Adding in Railcom to a layout design does require at least 1 feedback module for each booster. In general the YD6016LN-RC looks like it will fit my requirements for a Loconet based detector that is both a 3mA current sensor and a Railcom reporter. If I read it correctly it has 16 inputs that would be tied to one booster. That's a lot of inputs that can go to waste. I would rarely use more than 8 of them and often less. For example in comparing it to the Digitrax BDL-168, it has 16 inputs that can be grouped into groups of 4 inputs that can each feed different boosters or circuit breakers if needed. Quite flexible. Also what is the YaMoRC solution for reversing loops?

Karst, A suggestion, if I may. Since this forum belongs to YaMoRC could you use it as your main English language forum (and/or other language) to make announcements concerning YaMoRC products? For example I have been told that there will be a new release of the YD9401 firmware rendering functional the WiThrottle but I don't know where to look for the announcement update, nor have I been able to find previous warnings. This forum could include such things as: Firmware updates availabilities/announcements, New firmware functionalities/release notes, New product manuals and their versions, or any other thing that you would feel helpful to the YaMoRC community If you so decide it would be helpful if you would indicate the forum address on your Web site. How Do I Connect Everything Togethe?
7
Hello This is my first post to this group. I am hoping to learn more about some of the features on the YD7001. I have just upgraded my DR5000 to a YD7001 which was very easy and straightforward. I have for over five years had an ECoS 52000 linked to a PC running TrainController Gold using a dedicated router via LAN to connect them together. This has always worked well and I had no problems. However, I wanted to upgrade to a DR5000 and I began to understand how little I know about the various DCC protocols involved. Karst has been very helpful and suggested I use the USB connection to my PC (using Intellibox II as the command station) which will connect to TC. However, I also use the Smarthand optional extra on TC which let me operate the whole layout using smart devices over my routers Wi-Fi. This is where I start to get confused with the YD7001. It has its own internal Wi-Fi, so does this mean I can connect smart phones and tablets to TC via the YD7001. Alternatively, can I connect my old router to the YD7001 and PC as an overlay network and connect smart devices to TC that way. i was also hoping to use LocoNet occupancy detectors using the DR5000 and had started to install them on my layout. However, Karst informed me that TC does not support LocoNet over LAN so that option is out of the question. So, is there a way of achieving everything I want to achieve, or does something have to change? My apologies for for being ignorant on these connectivity issues. Many thanks. Les

YD9401 and Digitrax Simplex

Does anyone know if a DR5000 upgraded to a YD9401 will work with Digitrax Simplex throttles? My DR5000 will, with some settings tweaks. #DR5000 -> #YD7001 #WiFi ok, but No Internet

#dr5000
#yd7001
#wifi
Just did the conversion #DR5000 to #YD7001. All good, except when I connect my Windows Laptop via WiFi to YD7001-D00#####-AP I have a connection but no Internet connection. The YD7001 is connected to the LAN Ethernet fine with the settings as per the setup instructions. Also, same on my iPhone when connected to WiFi - The Z21 app on iPhone works fine and I can control trains. But I have no internet connection on the iPhone. It's like it isn't passing through the wiFi connection to the LAN. Where should I be looking to fix this, or am I missing something here?

Yamorc and Digitrax
3
Hi All, I am currently using Diigtrax hardware, but as I get deeper into this area I am considering changing direction - with YaMoRC being a lead contender. My question is how much of my current Digitrax equipment I could continue to use via connection to a YD7100+YD7101 Set. In terms of Digitrax equipment I currently have: DCS210+ command station / booster BXP88 occupancy detectors DS74 stationary decoders I like the Digitrax transponding feature, but I see the YaMoRC kit supports RailCom and assume that would provide the same or better functionality. This may be a stupid question - If you can connect the BXP88 units to YaMoRC would the RailCom signal still pass through to the command station? I am also trialing iTrain on a MacBook Air. I understand YaMoRC is compatible with Mac and I assume it interacts well with iTrain? Thanks David

YD8116 feedback to iTrain
2
#YD8116
If I use the YD8116 to switch my MP5 points, will the switch notify iTrains? Secondly, if I use a physical momentary push button switch on the layouts mimic panel to activate the MP5 driven point, does iTrain recognise via the YD8116 that the point switched manually? Thanks in anticipation, Peter
