DCC EXT DR4018? 2
I have a YD7001 that I believe supports DCCExt. Can I use DCCExt with a DR4018 or do I need a YD8116? I use ITrain which also supports DCCExt. Roger

DR5000 & Cobalt Problems 18
Hello Forum some time ago I had problems only with Cobalt ipdigitals connected to the old DR5000 some cobalts would lose or change their address for no reason. I had many a chat with dcc concepts and they changed all my 54 cobalts with the orange terminals for the new yellow terminals free of charge. so they said it was to do with my DR5000 the DR5000 worked fine in itself but had this problem with cobalts I could connect the cobalts to any other dcc system and they worked fine so my question is I have upgraded my DR5000 with the YD9401 would that have changed anything to make a difference to the operation side for cobalts thank you Alan

Using YD7001 with a DR4088CS or YD6016ES
I have a small iTrain test bench layout controlled by a YD7001. To control my Blocks I have been using either a DR4088CS or YD6016ES connected directly to the EXTN88 IN port of the YD7001. Whilst this is working OK. I note that each time I power up all the blocks show up as being occupied. I found that by unplugging the RJ45 cable in and out clears the occupation. Can this be avoided or can I presume this is not the correct solution!.

YD8116 programming 5
This is probably a really dumb question..... I need some extra outputs for signals and so I need to buy some additional signal decoders. So I was reading the user manual for the YD8116. I was under the impression that the 8116 was a 16 output device. The manual says that to configure the turnout addresses you press the button and send it a signal from the central unit switching the first desired output address for the 8116, and the 8116 assigns that address and the next seven addresses consecutively. That's ok, but what about the other 8 addresses? Or, do I need to program the 8116 vie the ES-Link system so that all 16 can be set with an address? The example shown in the manual states that to use the ES-Link system we need to go via another module to use the ES-Link system. This would mean I would need to purchase a module I don't need on my railway just to carry out the programming!! All I want to do is use all 16 outputs of the module with seperate addresses for each output, with fade on and off. My central unit is a DR5000 / YD7001. My signals are currently driven with several DR4018. Thanks Pete S.

Digitrax DS51K1 switch decoder not working with YD7010
Hi, We are migrating from the DR5000 to the YD7010. We have previously controlled switch decoders with the Z21 app on iPad. The DS51K1 decoder does not respond when connected to the YD7010. We can turn track power off and on and control locomotives through the Z21 app. However, it will not throw the Kato turnouts that we have connected to a DS51K1. We have also connected the YD7010 to a computer running JMRI via USB, and the Turnout Control in JMRI will not operate the turnout either. It also cannot be operated via the Switchboard in the YD7010 Configuration App on the computer. After working on it for several hours, we pulled out our old DR5000 to test if it would work the switch. It worked perfectly with the Z21 app. We checked configuration settings for both, but could see no major differences. Any ideas? Thanks, Hubert

How to control S88N devices with a TCS CS-105 5
I am at the point in my model railroading journey that I want to get away from Digitrax consisting and move to an NCE style system. This means that the upgrade choice would be the TCS CS-105. On my YD7001, I am using LocoNet T, LocoNet B, ExpressNet and S88N. The ExpressNet is what controls the ProtoThrottle, so I can switch to cab bus on the CS-105 The LocoNet T can use the LCC to LocoNet adapter The LocoNet B, I am not sure what is out there for this, but I think there is a board from TCS that let's you use Digitrax boosters. Where I am stuck, is how do I control the S88N devices? I have 1 S88N device wired directly to the YD7001 and the rest are connected on the output of a LN module. Will S88N devices still work on a LocoNet bus that is not from the YD7001? Can I use the LCC to LocoNet adapter and have the S88N devices connected on the end of the bus and will they still work? I know that I could leave the YD7001 on my layout for a layout control bus and have the CS-105 dirve the DCC bus, but if I could reliably get everything S88N working over a LCC to LocoNet LCC adapter, then I would prefer that. YD7403 Question
Hi, I have several YD7403 Boosters on the lower deck of my layout. I will have 2 parallel tracks going up to the upper deck via a helix. The tracks come from different parts of the layout and there are 3 x YD7403 Boosters on the lower deck each with its own YD6016LN-CS. So my question is, can I have a single YD7403 feeding both tracks on the helix? If the answer is YES then the helix will be two separate blocks fed by a single YD7403 and YD6016LN-CS. There is no crossover between the parallel tracks. If that's too ambiguous, imaging a large loop coming together in a parallel track. Can I use a single YD7403 Booster on the parallel tracks even though these tracks are connected to the loop and several different YD7403 Boosters? Regards, OnG.

Unable to connect to YD7001 5
Hi all, This is driving me mad I cannot get round it. I have had this system running fine for over a year (upgraded DR5000) and it has been fine. A few days ago I had to restart my router and the router gave the YD7001 a different IP address. Now with jmri it was easy I just changed the IP address (only 1 digit change .110 to .111) and JMri works fine and the YD7001 works fine. But the configuration software still keeps trying .110 and failing, and despite the USB connection being there and functioning it will not use that either. How do I get the software to sort itself out please. I have updated the latest software and drivers and no error are showing anywhere, its just seems to have fixed itself to the old IP address. regards Doug

YD7001 stuck in demo mode etc. 11
After installing a YD 9401 into my DR5000 and dowloading the config software, I then installed it, the activation message did not appear. The config software was re installed again still no joy, it was also tried on an other desk top computer and laptop with the same issue both pc are windows 10 latest version. At one point I did see serial number but still not working it is just stuck in Demo mode with only the Track power leds on. The DR5000/ YD7001 has a new power supply YD7460 3.3A 18V. I would also like to use the Z21 WLAN MAUS if possible.

YD7432 Reverser - recommended length of the Sensor track 9
I've just started implementing two YD7432 reversers each using S1 and S2 sensors. What is the recommended (or minumum) length for each of these isolated track sections for a correct operation? I know that the the "Track Out" must be as long as the longest train, but could find no mention about the length of the shorter sensor sections. Track is not yet laid so I can still adjust the plan according to your answer. Thanks in advance.

Detailed setup manual for the YD7010? 21
Hello, I am considering the YD7010 for my model railroad. Setup should reasonably straightforward as I have no legacy DCC equipment and will only make three connections to the YD7010 (main track, programming track, and LAN). I have read the quick start manual. Hopefully, there is a more detailed product manual, particularly in regards to setting up the wifi access point and the need for a full time computer connected to the LAN. Is there a more detailed manual somewhere or is the release relatively recent and one is in the works? Thanks, Rick

RailCom detection 2
I would like to try and test some RailCom futures. At the moment the only available detection unit comes from LoDi. Can that unit be connected directly to the YaMoRC 7010 station on the S88 bus? https://lokstoredigital.jimdoweb.com/hardware/melden/lodi-8-gbm/

Font size
Is there any way to increase font size in YD7010 log screen? My eyes are not what they use to be and have a hard time reading the log on screen. Thank you.

YD7403 and Loconet B 2
I need some help with connecting up Loconet T and B sockets on the YD7001. I was under the impression that the Loconet B connector was to be used to connect up booster modules and the Loconet T connector was to be used to connect up all the feedback modules. The DR5033 manual shows Loconet B being used between command station and booster. A separate Loconet T cable is used to connect the command station to the feedback modules. So 2 cable runs needed - a T and a B. However... The YD7001E manual shows Loconet B connecting the YD7403 booster and the YD6016LN-CS and presumably GND feedback modules. So only 1 cable run needed. If there are no booster modules then the diagrams show the Loconet T being used. Can I please get a better understanding of whether modules can all daisy chain off the Loconet B connector on the YD7001 or whether I still need to make different runs to the feedback and booster modules. Perhaps things changed from the digikeijs era.

YD7001 | Resetting Command Station after Short 3
Hello, (I have not read the manual, my apologies in advance. Today during an operations session, there were many shorts, a good amount caused by operator error, but other from normal things. All the shorts were quickly cleared, but I then had to manually reset the YD7001. My layout is not that big, so originally I was not planning to install circuit breakers. But, I would also like a solution that will try to reset track power after a few seconds, only completely shutting down if the short is not cleared quickly. Is it possible to set the YD7001 to retry track power after like 5 seconds, try 3 times, then require a manual restart after 15 seconds? Or some other similar scenerio? Or do I need to get circuit breakers installed if I want this feature? Thanks -- Heath @ Human[c]ity http://www.humancity.org http://www.riversidetransfer.nyc

Can the DR60710 power supply cause damage to controllers it provides power to ? 21
Hi There is a post on the FaceBook group Z21, YaMoRc, Digikeijs & automatic control users group that suggests that if there is a short on the DC output side, the DR60710 power supply cannot handle this because it does not have a built in circuit breaker. As a result of the short the DR60710 is damaged internally and starts sending high voltage to the controllers it is providing power to (controllers = DR5000 / YD7001 command station, DR5033 boosters, etc). We may be interpreting the post incorrectly, so a translated version of it follows: “Just another warning in relation to the old Digikeijs ADJ Power Supplies... https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1XvQouQacj1WpY8g/ Translation of Stefan Peter's message using Deepl: On the photo you can see what can happen if these Digikeijs ADJ power supplies continue to be used without an additional 3.5A fuse in the DC line using the example of a YD7001. As we should know, this power supply outputs up to 33V if the voltage selector switch has a loose contact. This happens more often the older these things get. At this moment, the protective diodes that are supposed to prevent worse things from happening are destroyed. But now comes the second major fault of these power supply units, because they continue to fire 7 to 9 A at the poor YD7001. As we also know, the power supply units have no short-circuit protection. The end result is a charred board, melted housing halves, a soldered DC connection and detached conductor tracks. A fuse may not prevent the initial destruction of the diodes, but it will at least prevent this immense damage caused by charring! So consider carefully whether it is not time to replace the power supply units with safer versions!” There is also a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYV-M2JXvk0 Based on this we have questions that hopefully someone in this group can comment on: Has anyone seen this problem ? If yes, what was the source of the short on the DC side ? How do we tell if we have an old power supply - all 10 of them are DR60710s ? Has anyone implemented a 3.5A fuse in the DC line to prevent problems ? Does the DR60710-M, which I assume is a newer power supply, address the problem of a short on the DC output side ? What other power supplies are people using the the DR5000, YD7001, etc ? Any information you can provide will be appreciated. Jay Lennox Toronto, Canada

YD7001 questions - booster, consisting 5
First, can the YD001 act as a booster, or just as a command station? Second, plugging in a Digitrax throttle or using Engine Driver, can consisting be done on the throttle? Third - is there a way to set the output voltage? For example, for HO you might want 15 volts, but for N you would prefer 12. Thanks, -bruce nytrr@...
