Re: Thinking about getting rid of my w650
I'd buy it in a heartbeat, just for the freak-factor. And I like military equipment. Of course my big 40th is coming up at the end of the month, if anybody has connections and wants to stuff one into

Thanks JV. But any concerns about switching over to synthetic when it wasn't used during "break-in"? Also, got any views about using the longer than stock Purolator PureOne Oil Filter? I've got just

Re: Thinking about getting rid of my w650
Strangely enough MOST of the HD riders I know do use their bikes. The annual mileage of most of the members of Invicta H.O.G. is quite high Dick

Re: Thinking about getting rid of my w650
Touring motorcyclists are far more likely to buy a bike to enjoy rather than as a fashion icon. It's like those little cars with sparkly paint jobs, fat exhausts and see-through tail lights...Their

That ties in with what I've come to realise. When something in your vicinity presents itself as a threat, you remember it and keep it within your mind's sphere of awareness. When something does not

Think is, modern diesels are infinitely better than the old knockers of yesteryear. You guys barely see the advances because your fuel is so crap the particulate emmisions from ANY diesel engine are

Re: Oil/ Oil Additives
It's the Shell Rotella-T 5w-40 synthetic I've read good things about and what is in my W650 now. It's a common oil used for turbo diesels so should do well in a Grand National I would think. Most

Good point John. There have also been cases of portraying a false image involving members of this group who have put badges of marques on their Kawasaksi in attempt to make people think that they are

I can only assume that HD riders in your neck of the woods are very different to those around here or you are riding around with a very blinkered outlook. Whilst in Cornwall I came across 3 HD riders

I can certainly 'get' what you are saying. I often ride slowly...Both my Honda 50's barely manage 35 and a few years ago I crossed Zimbabwe on a 55mph 125 CB92. I rather like the idea of a big loafing

Re: Thinking about getting rid of my w650
I don't know what your experience with Harleys is, but I have built many EVO Harleys to better than 90 horsepower and never had one fail yet. The stock crank is good for a build to better than 120 hp.
