Re: Fork rebuilding...
开云体育Hi Vince -Thanks for the reply! ?I do recall your other thread - I referenced it in my first post above. ?The “jostling” bits are at the bottom of the fork tube, not the top. ?92093 is the dust seal that covers the transition point between the fork tube and slider - it hides beneath the fork gaiter. ?This is not the same part at all. ?Look back at my first post above, there’s two photos and a link to a short youtube video I posted to demonstrate the parts and how they move about inside the tube… they aren’t shown on any parts diagram that I’ve found, which makes me assume that they’re not serviceable…

Re: Fork rebuilding...
Hi Matthew,
you may recall my previous post ?fork oil stink‘. ?My fork bushings were in very good shape and didn’t need replacement. ?However, I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts that a previous owner did and subsequently didn’t ride the bike much after that, so the bike sat unused. ?
regarding the concentric ring jostling around at the top of the fork tube… that is likely a ‘dust cover’. ?
If you have the Kawasaki parts catalog (free digital copy on the advrider W650 thread), look at section F6, page 44. ?You’ll see a diagram of the forks taken apart and parts labeled. ?The part you are referencing appears to be 92093 92093-1510 SEAL,FORKOUTER TUBE. It should be snug and not move around. ?I’ll try to post a picture if I can remember how.

Re: Are you all running standard looking bikes or are there any modified bikes out there?
Dirty Dick those bikes are Gorgeous! ?I especially admire the red and black roadster (last on the list). ?You manage to keep that classic simplicity with minimal modifications. ?
My 2000 model blue and silver is stock except for the emissions stuff that everyone seems to remove. ?It’s a really good bike except for that buzzyness around 3500 rpm. ?My T140 handled a little better, I think, but I have the stock (US) handlebars.
?
Lately, I’ve been interested in the Sportster Evolution bikes… the carbed bikes have a much greater likeness to my old 1973 (right side shifter) sportster. ?I sold it many years ago (sometime in the mid-eighties). ?

Re: kickstart
Well - the usual suspects. The Dub is notoriously cold-blooded and something out of whack may make it worse. Easy stuff:?
More difficult stuff
That's all I can think of but it's a start. Good luck. =Sal On Sun, Feb 9, 2025 at 6:49?AM ssf551097 via <ssf551097=[email protected]> wrote:

开云体育No worries… I’m amazed that nobody in any of the forums I’ve posted to seems to know anything about this! ?If they do, they ain’t talking!
