Camouflage Booklets by Mike Starmer
2
Does anyone have copies of Mike Starmer's camougflage books that I could beg, buy or borrow? I'm after the Sicily and Italy and the Alamein and After ones. I have the Sicily Italy one but am damned if I can find it. I've tried sending an e-mail to the author to buy them but, as yet, I've had no reply. I'm trying to do forces for the Tunisian Campaign and the Mareth Line. Thanks for any help anyone can give. Jon

How long before we all go goofy...or goofier as it is.
17
One of the things that amused me with SP2 was how within minutes people were coming up with ways of playing it beyond the rules as written. For example, Zulu War or Northwest Frontier. (Guilty, your honor) How long before we get that way with Infamy? I know I was thinking about the Late Imperial Romans that I've had since the days of WAB, and my mind was wandering.... This should be fun. By the way, since I can't find Carry On, Cleo for Region 1, last night the dog and I watched Carry On, Abroad. Not the same. But still a friend of Kenneth.

Can we please drop the TMP topic? And move back to gaming TFL games. Or do you want to keep driving this group into the cesspool along with TMP? Please just drop it.

Wulkow 4/45 6mm IABSM pt 1
I ran another remote game of IABSM using Messenger and my 6mm stuff. It was a late war East Front game that was suggested by one of the players I decided to do something a bit different and set this up to be a game run over 2 sessions with a different pair of gamers each time. Being a lazy git it meant that I didn't have to make up a new table for the second game. This was another remote viewing game using I Aint Been Shoot Mum and my 6mm minis. It was divided into 2 sessions with 2 different players in each. The scenario was to depict the defense of Wulkow in eastern Germany on April 18, 1945 by elements of the 27th Fallschirmjager Rgt. A larger overview of the battle from Bob Mackenzie's excellent site: On the 16th of April 1945 the Soviet army unleashed its last offensive against the German Reich. The bridgeheads over the Oder River split asunder and spewed forth red infantry and armor which forged forward to take Berlin. Although by this late stage in the war the German army was on its knees, it had a strong defensive position on the Seelow heights and gave a good account of itself, selling each meter of the Reich dearly. Pressure began to mount and the German line broke. Soviet forces flowed either side of Seelow and pushed along Reichstrasse 1 into the country beyond. As the best German forces were deployed along the road, which was the direct route to Berlin progress was slow. However to the north of the road the Soviets had penetrated several km's further. This meant that the Germans around Reichstrasse 1 were on a salient. Guarding the North edge of the Salient was the village of Wulkow. The Soviets wished to take it and push to the south east to support their advance down the road to Berlin. The main assault fell to the 301st Rifle Division, supported by the 220th Tank brigade. Behind were the tank brigades of the 11th Tank Corps and 1st Mechanised Corps waiting to exploit the the breakthrough. All the Soviet troops were seasoned fighting men. O Group
I was recently pondering what to do with my 15mm FJ's from the old days when I encountered the blog posting about O Group. Now I'm wondering.... I'm clear (maybe) about how basic infantry units are represented. But what I don't know how "heavy weapons"-mortars, anti-tank guns, MMG etc- are represented. Can anyone provide info and insight? TIA Tom from Seattle

ITLSU Western front 1914
I've gone insane and impulse bought some brigades for the opening months of the great war. While looking for rulesets to use them with them where 1 stand = 1 company. I dimly remembered ITLSU and picked up the rules after reading the lard Island AAR from a few years ago. I found the unit ratings and commanders uploaded to the files section for British and German armies on the western front but don't have a clue what to do about national characteristic cards. Does anybody have any sets squirreled away at all? Or advice on how to come up with equivalents? Thanks, Pete

D-Day scenario for CoC
8
Hi all Our club in Auckland, NZ is looking to put on a D-Day game using the CoC rules and I was looking for some scenarios or scenario ideas? Perhaps an Attack defence vs Germans in fortified positions. I've got one of the Airfix coastal defence forts and it would be nice to use in the scenario :-) I did find some info on bunker in the summer 2017 special but I was hoping someone else has done the hard work and written a scenrio for CoC? Cheers Kieran

What are you doing during lockdown ?
60
So during this time what are we doing I don't know about you guys but the club I belong to was an important part of my life . In these times it's important to keep those contacts and the club going so I decided to run a game of sharp practice for the club over Facebook using a table in my garage and video recording things like the drawer of the chits dice rolls and of course placement of figures at the moment we're on turn one and it's a French Indian war game the British are attacking a French settlement .

Chain of Command US list

Hi all, first time caller. In the US lists, how do I choose a M8 HMC? It appears in the arsenal, but not the support lists. I have a LW French company (US equipped) that I am interested in utilising for my first game. Regards Ian

IABSM Figure Requirements
2
I have the figure requirements for All American and Blennville (plus Surf's Up) from the files area. Is there a specific location that has all the figure requirements for all the various IABSM (and CoC) scenario packs? Slowly rediscovering forgotten packs of minis as I tidy and trying to work out what extras I'd need (haven't bought the scenarios yet) Regards Lee

Solo Sharp Practice
8
Hi all, I've been having the conundrum of only really owning one army for each game I play, making solo games impossible (I can't do paper stand-ins, I'm allergic.) I did just have a brainwave about my Sharp Practice British though, why not play a mission with deserters vs regulars in the peninsula. I have enough to do a small game maybe a skirmish in a village or something similar. For example rescuing a captured officer from the deserter's camp in an abandoned village, working with maybe a couple of groups per side or very small forces. What's the best way of injecting a bit of narrative into the game? I'll use the minor character and sentry rules for the initial set up so I suppose I really need to figure out who has what in terms of figures and give it a bash. The only thing I'm missing is an Elizabeth Hurley miniature, but we can't win them all. Does anyone have any ideas or tips on making a good scenario around very small / TV drama style actions? Might as well chuck in a bit of dueling of course ;) Cheers, Pete

Coastal Patrol--great for solo and remote gaming
William and I just played a small game of Coastal Patrol last night via texting and it worked great. With its layers of blinds and players ability to keep track of their damage separately it is a perfect simulation for isolation gaming. The scenario involved Soviet MTBs and gunboats trying to get through a German picket force of 2 armed trawlers and a R boate. The Russians succeeded and even managed to kill the R boate CO as they exited the table. We each had no idea what the other player had or their crew quality throughout the game. We plan on trying some other scenarios in the Baltic soon. Mark

Sharp Practice Sugar Island campaign continues
3
This was my first attempt at doing a Sharp Practice game via texting. The scenario was set on Martinique and part of our Sugar Islands campaign. It would be the 3rd game on that island and I was using the recently posted Encounter with Maroons by Stuart Insch as its basis https://stuartinschwargames.blogspot.com/2020/04/encounter-with-maroons-scenario.html For a full AAR and loads of pictures go to my flickr site: https://www.flickr.com/photos/6mmgaming/albums/72157714041233566 15mm minis and Sharp Practice 2 rules.
