Issues addressed at the Center must have direct relevance for US-Asia-Pacific understanding and relations. The Organisation's interests in environmental studies include issues of ecosystems and governance, climate variability and change, urban and transnational atmospheric pollution, and strengthening the links between environmental science and public policy on issues of regional importance. The Center is seeking highly qualified candidates for two positions who will be responsible for developing strategies to build cooperative projects with active participation of senior researchers and private sector representatives from Asia-Pacific and the United States.
