Re: Hello all, and my first question
It will be something like this:

R12 will need to be calculated, so CVCC is 1.5V.

Re: Hello all, and my first question
Actually, it is quite possible to connect a capsule with internal FET to an Alice circuit. It takes to power the capsule, which just requires two resistors and one capacitor, then use a capacitor

Re: Hello all, and my first question
The simple P48 works really well with those capsules and the TSB2590. It has a couple internal RF EMI caps that make all the difference.

Re: Hello all, and my first question
Thanks Jules. Can you suggest a similarly low parts count circuit that I could use with these JLI capsules? The skinny black china electret boards work but for some reason this batch are noisy, not

Re: Hello all, and my first question
You don't want to remove the internal fet. (unless you are gifted
mechanically) The OPA board is meant for FET-less capsules. try it with
the China Gold capsule you have or a TSB2555B

Hello all, and my first question
Hi everyone. I've been playing around with a few DIY mics and have successfully mated an China gold 25mm capsule and k596 FET to a modified(per Audioimprov's great site) China electret-to-P48 board.

Re: EM264Y Mic Amp Noise
Not really. The audio signal stay constant. A strong hiss starts after one second and get constantly quieter, but it is still noisy.
I just recorded a sine wave with it. I know the Humm is because of

Does the audio signal level varies accordingly? This would be to be expected.

Re: EM264Y Mic Amp Noise
Thank you Jules and Jerry for the replies.
I'll try both suggestions and observe how the noise changes.
I'll also take a deeper look into the Alice circuit. As you mentioned Jules, Simple P48 works

Re: EM264Y Mic Amp Noise
There is nothing wrong, except maybe the voltage across the capsule may be a little too high. I suspect there is about 7-8V , which is much higher than the specified 3V.across.
You may try to increase

Re: EM264Y Mic Amp Noise
That should work as I now see the FET in use is the internal FET. You are
kind of reinventing the wheel here. This should work but I would take a
look in our files for the Alice circuit as that is a

Here the actuall schemos. Just edited the last ones to make them undestandable.

Well, both these schemos don't show how the capsule is connected/biased.

?You show no shielding around the whole circuit.
That capsule also has a built in FET. The circuit you show is designed for a Fetless capsule.
One final note. The Primo 264 is known for
