Finally found the problem over the weekend. The "Lock" key had been pressed causing the momentary press of the Fst button to be ignored even though it was still recognised for powering tghe radio on

Check for stuck buttons on the radio and/or on the mic. It happens more than you think and will cause a few or more options to not work. Joe / AJ3O

If you are using the MH-59 Mic just press the Orange button 1 time that will take you out of fast mode on tuning. Make sure your setting for the Mic SEL # 59 is set to RMT when using the MH-59. save

John, If the instruction in manual page 24 fails, I would try the A=B key, then the A/B key to see what happened. As I recall the [C] is a toggle though haven't used ever on the 857D. Regards, Phil /
