My 857d seems to have a problem. This is the first time I have tried VHF with this radio. I have programed it as follows...

Rx:146.730 -0.6 MHz
PL: 107.2
Antenna: portable from my HT via coax
Power: 5w
Tone is on and offset is good.

Note: this radio has been modified for all-band operations.

From my shack with the HT on low power I can access the repeater no issues. I put the HT antenna on the 857D and I cannot break the squelch. I can hear the outbound signal on my HT reverse so I know the radio is transmitting. While just sitting there I can hear conversations on the repeater with the 857D. Just cannot break the repeater's input squelch.

The radio seems straight forward to program for 2m repeater operation. So I believe I have it setup correctly. Maybe I am missing something.

Has anyone had similar issues with VHF repeater operations?
