Homier got the bandsaw back??
Their website was down for a few days, but now its back up. They've got the bandsaw for $99 on the site, it does say it is out of stock though. Anyone know anything about this??

I also found that the tension affects the tilt of the wheel because of slight deformations at different tensions. If my tension is off substantially from where I set everything up, the blade will

Blade tracking
The difference is that the woodworking bandsaw has rubber "tires" on the wheels, while the 4x6 has bare cast iron. Even so, most people leave the blade tension set high even with rubber tires on the

saw blades
There are some big differences in carbon steel blades. I bought a blade from Homier that was dead soft, and would not cut at all. Some HF blades do well, and others don't last long. I have had the

So I'm cutting ATS-34 and some 1080 steel this weekend. Somehow, while cutting the ats, the bi metal 10-14 tpiblade catches and makes this bend in itself. :( I decide to swap out for the 18tpi

Subject: coolant?
I use Lenox "BandAde", currently on sale at J&L. It lasts ~1 year if I add biocide and aerate regularly. I have an inexpensive aquarium air pump feeding bubbler stones in the bottom of the bucket.

Re: 6" diameter aluminum
Actually other people have had success using a sledge hammer. By heating the pistons in a fire to the point just before they start to melt, then striking it with a sledge, the aluminum crumbles.

I have been thinking of using coolant on the blade of my saw. I was wondering how long the soluble coolant lasted after it was mixed and in the tank beening used? I know that I would not be using it

I have some 6" diameter scrap pistons I need to cut down. The cuts don't have to be pretty, I just need to hack the pistons up into chunks small enough for me to fit into my crucible so I can't
