Re: Bandsaw blade welding

My wood bandsaw blade broke again. The factory weld broke but my
weld is still holding. I rewelding the blade and am back in
service. I applied an even smaller piece of flux and brazing rod and
it seemed to work better.

My 4x6 saw has never had a broken blade. The teeth wear out first.

Hello,

I have Homier 4x6 bandsaw and thoght it would be a good idea to
have
a way of welding the blade together when it breaks.

Here is a website with the method I am copying.

I made a fixture like the one shown. My 4x6 is about 8 months
old.
So far the the blades seem to hold up very good and none have
broken
et. I have a small wood bandsaw too. The wood bandsaw has smaller
blades of about 3/16" to 1/4" wide. I broke a blade on it
yesterday
and tried the rewelding. After my second try it is holding and I
am
cutting wood with it. The 4x6 blade being 1/2" should be even
easier
to weld/braze.

Anyone else trying this? Any successes?
