Knife making is cool !
I see a lot of custom knives in one of the mags I read, American
Handgunner. The prices I see are way out of my budget but they sure
are beautiful to look at.

Re: Thick cuts
Hey Bob,
You're sure taking the saw to the max! Cutting large pieces of aluminum
take a bit of time... but steel! Haven't tried that yet.

Thick cuts
Hi guys, Wacked off another slice of 1.375 thick x 6.25 wide today
with my 2nd saw, cut great like my 1st saw. Took about 1/2 hour to
cut. Sprayed WD40 on it 3 times. Used a 10tpi bi-metal matrix

Re: odd problem...
That's why I added a coolant pump to my bandsaw,
first it's keeping the cut cool, secondly it flushes and
greases the cut.
Before, I was running in all the similar mentioned problems,
now I can clamp

Re: odd problem...
I found two things that would cause a similar rhythmic problem.
1. A missing tooth in the blade
2. A tiny bit of aluminum wedged between two teeth.

Hey Guys,
I ran into a odd problem today.
Here's the story... Every once in a while, when cutting large blocks of
aluminum, the saw upper assembly would start a rhythmic jumping. This

Re: Cutting small, short, and odd-shaped pieces
I know an individual who mounted a slightly larger (3 or 4 in.) drill
press vise vertically on a base, but with the ends of the jaws still
facing the same direction as the small vise in the picture.

Cutting small, short, and odd-shaped pieces
The principal problem in cutting small, short, and odd-shaped
pieces is to find a way of holding them while the cut is being made.
One method is to fasten the piece to be cut to another piece
