Re: YAAC Email

so when I use the pull down in YAAC there is a send email prompt that says send email via winlink. This cannot be done then from YAAC??

Re: YAAC Email

YAAC is an APRS client. Winlink is a different protocol. You will need to use a WinLink compatible client to connect to a WinLink node or process traffic.

I have an account with winlink, but I get a response when sending an email that says
"invalid login challenge response" it looks like the sequence number is there, but not sure if I need to add the password to the YAAC program somewhere?

Packets from IS not igating out to RF

I thought I posted on this a week or so ago but I¡¯m struggling to get packets from IS out over RF through my Igate / Digipeater AG7GK-2
I¡¯m running YAAC with two ports defined:
Serial TNC on TNCPI - works great for Digipeating and igating so far
APRS-IS port - filter is defined as m/120 -p/CW

When I transmit from my HT the Igate picks it up fine and gets to my phone. ?The ACKs are sent from the phone but do not Igate out to RF even though I have RF> IS and IS>RF checked in ¡°Transmit Tab¡±. ?I¡¯ve tried filters to specifically allow traffic by type and by callsign but no luck. ?I¡±be not had this problem with APRSIS/32 OR aprx clients but they are deficient in multiple ways compared to YAAC.?

Thoughts? ?

Why do the supplemental Igate filters disappear when I save them to the field on the transmit tab?

HT CALLSIGN: AG7GK-7
PHONE CALLSIGN: AG7GK-8
IGATE / DIGIPEATER: AG7GK-2

Configuration for fill-in digipeater / RF <> IS Igate

Hello,

I've been really impressed with YAAC. I have set up a Rpi3 with TNC-PI2 connected to a yeasu 2980R 2m rig.? I originally started with a windows 7 machine running APRS IS/32 which worked great for last couple of months but I wanted something more portable that I can put at a repeater site my buddy has space in so I moved to the TNCPI.? I set up APRX first but it lacks good message management and a basic GUI and I really want to use YAAC.? Which brings me to my one problem:

I can't seem to get IS messages back out over RF despite having a Supplemental IF filter set and a filter set on my IS port.? On the other apps I had no problem testing sending from my APRS client on a phone / tablet out to my HT over IS > RF and back again from HT to Phone from RF > IS.? Both RF and IS igating are configured.? I'm assuming it's something to do with the filter OR my digipeat path settings but at this point I'm so turned around I can't get what was working quite easily on my last two configurations to work with this.?

Could someone check out my configs and let me know what I'm missing?

My callsign SSID assignments are as follows:
AG7GK-2 is the Igate / Digipeaters (RF AND APRS-IS CONNECTED)
AG7GK-7 is my HT, a yaesu FT2D
AG7GK-8 is my Iphone / Ipad (depending on which is connected and on) connected to APRS-IS

Main expert General config screen(don't see any relevant settings):

Note: Whenver I set a supplemental Tx-Igate filter it does not "store" in this field, I can't tell if it's working or if it is getting overriden by the APRS-IS port filter.? At this time i set that filter to m/120, or 120km range from my beacon location.?
I have RF>IS AND IS > RF gating enabled

Here are some examples of messages:
My HT beacon and raw filter from YAAC entry:?

I confirm that message and show good path on APRS.fi through AG7GK-2

Mesa from AG7GK-2 to AG7GK-7 over RF worked great, ACK received from AG7GK-7 TO AG7GK-2

I sent a message back from the HT AG7GK-7 over RF to AG7GK-2 and received and ACK on the HT

Testing from HT TO pocket packet AG7GK-8 i do not receive an Ack? though the phone sends it:

What issue do I have with my digipeat / igate settings or paths??

Thanks AG7GK

Re: YAAC not rendering water contained by shoreline

Interesting... What data is there in that tile to tell you the base layer of what's there?

I've noticed that YAAC isn't rendering water that is contained by shoreline ways as being water. This leaves a lot of water area showing up as white space.

Thanks,

Re: General APRS Question

The answer _should_ be "yes". If an I-gate hears a packet, it should always forward it (not sure if the digipeater anti-looping logic should apply to an I-gate). Of course, that also requires that the I-gate's Internet connection is up at the time, too; I-gates don't generally cache packets if their Internet connection is down.

I have a general question about APRS, not so much about YAAC. If my path is set to direct, and my packet reaches an igate, will it still make the internet? I say yes because path doesn't have anything to do with igating.
Thanks,
Danny

Re: WX port

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Are you running YAAC on Windows? I had one other report of this, and my current guess is that YAAC is trying to read the wxnow.txt file at the same time the other program is writing it. Microsoft Windows generally locks a file opened for write for exclusive access, so YAAC wouldn't be able to open it for read. The current code in YAAC can't handle being blocked from opening the file; I have a fix in the upcoming next build of YAAC.?

In the meantime, re-open the WXNOW.TXT port. You might want to change the polling interval in YAAC to not be a multiple or integer fraction of the write interval set in the other program, so it's less likely that YAAC will try to read the file while it is being written.

Subject: [yaac-users] WX port

Good evening group,
Yet another question. I am using YAAC along with my Davis weather station and for the most part it works good however every couple of days the WXNOW. TXT port becomes disabled. When clicking the WX button on the main screen, the ¡°enable port¡± box is unchecked and if looking in the configuration menu under ports the enable box is still checked but the text is in red. Any thoughts or suggestions on what is going on?
I have YAAC handling Digi, IGate and weather so I¡¯m not using any weather symbol.
Thank you in advance, Alan N2ZVN?

Tracking station not working

Have the current version running,? a station shows up I want to track. Right click,? start tracking station. This is the only station I want to track I might add. Map doesn't shift when the station reports in a second or third time. So either I did something incorrect? Shouldn't the map move to show the new position of the second report? Auto center is also turned off as well just to make sure it wasn't interfering with the station I wanted to track.?

Suggestions?
