The answer _should_ be "yes". If an I-gate hears a packet, it should always forward it (not sure if the digipeater anti-looping logic should apply to an I-gate). Of course, that also requires that the I-gate's Internet connection is up at the time, too; I-gates don't generally cache packets if their Internet connection is down.

I have a general question about APRS, not so much about YAAC. If my path is set to direct, and my packet reaches an igate, will it still make the internet? I say yes because path doesn't have anything to do with igating.
