New Band "8 Meter" addition to code
3
Hi, Regarding : R1CBU firmware 0.27.0 It would be great to have the New band "8 Meter" also available in the code for FT8 etc... Main FT8 frequency is 40.680 Mhz Info : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8-meter_band Belgium has this band recently added for it's use by Ham Operators. June 1998 Slovenia S5 40.660¨C40.700 MHz 40 kHz of spectrum allocated for beacons February 2005 South Africa ZS 40.675¨C40.685 MHz 10 kHz of spectrum allocated[13][14] July 2013 Slovenia S5 40.660¨C40.700 MHz 40 kHz allocated to the amateur service[15] April 2018 Ireland EI 40.000¨C45.000 MHz 5 MHz of the low VHF spectrum allocated to Irish radio amateurs.[16] August 2023 Belgium ON 40.660¨C40.690 MHz 30 kHz allocated to class A radio amateurs[17] April 2024 Spain EA 40.650¨C40.750 MHz 100 kHz allocated to the amateur service for a period of 18 months. August 2024 Italy I 40.660¨C40.700 MHz 40 kHz allocated to the amateur service up to December 31. I hope this would be possible in a next release of the Code. Thanks and 73's Luke ON2ON

What power level do I dare use for SSTV

I'd like to try SSTV sending, but not sure what max power to use. The transmissions are quite long. If I have heat sinks with fans, do I need to worry about a long send at 10 watts? -- Stephen AC2GW

CAT Strings to set up EasyPal?
EasyPal doesn't have a config for the x6100, but people say generally use the IC-718 rig. That almost works. it will initiate PTT, the radio responds. but after about 10 seconds the radio drops PTT, and EasyPall thinks it's still in transmit mode. They let you configure the CAT strings yourself. they give 2 fields for Init, and a PPT on and PTT off Field, and a field for shut down. Has anyone gotten this radio working with EasyPal? Or does anyone know what x6100 specific CAT commands I need to issue? -- Stephen AC2GW

Setup the handie keys
3
I have set my handie keys 1-8 to be 1.8Mhz to 24Mhz. They all work well. However nothing happens when I try to set key 9 to 28Mhz and also the key marked 50Mhz. Do I have a faulty handie or is this normal?

Tuning knob playing up
4
Hi all Got an X6100 (App 1.1.8 - Base 1.1.7) recently. Just started using it and I'm having intermittent problems with the tuning. Sometime it works OK. Other times it will tune down in frequency OK - tuning knob turned anti-clockwise and frequency goes down - but won't tune up - knob turned clockwise but nothing happens. Very occasionally it will tune down in frequency whichever way I turn the knob. There doesn't seem to be any pattern in the fault. Anyone any idea what's happening please?

R1CBU FT8 Lock-Up
3
Hi I am experiencing lock-ups. GPS and Wi-Fi time both working properly This happens when I leave the radio switch on when receiving FT8 / FT4 signals After a while the sound mutes, the red power light shows and no received FT signals. If I touch the Power Button the X6100 resumes as normal. Any ideas please ? - Picture attached

R1CBU firmware 0.26.0

#R1CBU-Firmware
Hi. Actual release available on the Releases page on GitHub. Significant changes - WiFi, FTx incremental decoding and support of CQ modifiers (SOTA, POTA, etc). This version based on updated linux image and using external FTx library - so it (possible) might have some bugs. Remember to copy files from DATA partition before flashing to save all parameters, logs, messages, etc. After flashing and first boot - copy these files back to DATA. 73. Georgy // R2RFE

X6100 looses RX after trasmiting
16
Greetings from rainy San Salvador. A strange behavior from my Xiegu X6100. Good for documenting it at the collection of problems list with this radio. Today, went to a park trying to use my X6100 with an end-fed antenna. This antenna has been used before, no problems with the Xiegu tuner. First time it happens, my X6100 is receiving well, but whenever I transmit, when going back to RX, the RX goes down. It happens in all bands, all modes. As soon as I transmit anything, even for half a second, when I release the PTT or stop sending CW, the radio goes almost silent. No RX. The waterfall stops receiving. The only thing being shown in the waterfall are the birdies. Those are the only ones being shown. Nothing else. To get RX back, I have discovered that if I plug and unplug the external power plug, even with no power on that plug at all, then RX comes back. Also, it is doing this with Oleg's or with the original Xiegu system. I have the latest of both (Oleg's 0.23 and Xiegu V1.1.6). Whenever I transmit, the RX goes to zero. Have tried restoring to Factory Default to no avail. It continues to show this behavior. Any ideas of what could the problem be? Apart from this, everything works fine. Suggestions? Sending back to Xiegu from my country is not a viable option. We have services to receive from US but not the opposite way. Edit: Just discovered that, by simply touching the External Power socket with any metallic part, restores the RX in the radio. 73 Rob YS1RS

Xiegu X6100 hardware support - Spare components
7
May I ask, which address do you guys use to report problems or software issues? Have written directly to Xiegu for a hardware problem (need to replace SMD failed components) and have never received a response. Support is nil, zero, nada. I may be writing to the wrong address (the one on Xiegu's web page customer@...; tech-supp@...). Tks. 73 Rob YS1RS

Any hope of getting PL tones in the firmwares
6
Looks like the x6100 would be capable of repeater operation if it only had PL tones. I've seen some discussion they are possible or coming, any news on this front? -- Stephen AC2GW

What's the best latest firmware?
13
I haven't used my x6100 in over a year. I expected the official software to be updated by now to fix problems, I installed it, but it fails to set the time correctly from the ntp server, so I assume it's still buggy. So my question is what's the best firmware to run on this thing at this point -- Stephen AC2GW

R1CBU-speaker
3
Sorry if this has been covered before. When I plug external speaker in and switch SP mode to "Speaker" the volume drops to where it is difficult to hear stations with weakish signals even with volume at 55 and RF Gain at 100. When I switch to "Phones" it is much louder and easier to hear though audio quality seems worse. Could you tell me if this is working as designed and what the function of the switch is? Thank you very much, I really prefer this GUI to stock.
