R1CBU firmware 0.26.0 #development #firmware #r1cbu #R1CBU-Firmware

Hi.

Actual release available on the on GitHub. Significant changes - WiFi, FTx incremental decoding and support of CQ modifiers (SOTA, POTA, etc).
This version based on updated linux image and using external FTx library - so it (possible) might have some bugs.

Remember to copy files from DATA partition before flashing to save all parameters, logs, messages, etc. After flashing and first boot - copy these files back to DATA.

Thank you so much Georgy

I can confirm that the Wi-Fi worked first time and updated the internal clock perfectly.

?

Can I just make one observation?

When you go to ‘Settings’ and try and set the ‘Day’ with the ‘Wrong’ knob (ie the volume / RF knob) you get some strange coding digits in the display where the date should be !!

?

I know that I am the idiot, but I thought I would own up to this as I do it soooo many times !!

I seen it on one of the video. I created an issue about it -?

Any chance to get this feature back somehow? It has its use cases.
"Time sync button on FT8 app was removed. Now time might be synchronized with WiFi."

Well, I was a bit lazy). I'll think how (and where) return it.

BTW, for outdoor time sync you can setup a WiFi access point on your phone and use it to sync the time.

What about setting time from GPS?

That's how I do it.

Yes, I use the external GPS, and it is my preferred way (looking forward to use the WiFi option also).

Just saying the TimeSync was an added value in some cases, like:?
- inside a building, or even covered terrace or similar, the GPS might not find the signal
- it happened that I forgot the GPS dongle at home :)
- the radio is often carried to some remote areas (mountains, woods, islands etc.), where there might be no WiFi / phone internet (or the internet is left at home on purpose :) )
- the TimeSync button is a quick way to sync for a casual FT8 QSO (no need to wait for GPS sync or fiddling with radio WiFi / phone hotspot setup)
- it might not be as precise as GPS/net update, but it works
- and as it is already developed, it would be nice to keep it.
?
And of course a BIG thank you both R1CBU and R2RFE for all the effort and great work! But I guess you heard this already many times :)

Am I right... I can just plug in one of my little usb GPS modules and have the radio set the time from that? ? Do I need to configure anything?
